The expected and unexpected
I met Deanna Cotten from Casper, Wyoming was at the BLN Summit last year. She came with daughter Leah. I’ve been following Deanna on fb. She was diagnosed with ALS shortly after the summit and is now in hospice. She expected to be doing great things in business in 2024. She did not expect to be diagnosed with a debilitating and terminal disease. She has been a treasure of openness, kindness and acceptance of what G-d has presented while stilling acknowledging that she hates ALS.

Deanna wrote a book about her journey towards death, it should be published soon. Sick in bed, dying, and still writing for others.
What's required to learn
Psychiatrist Thomas Szasz on what is required to learn: "Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to one's self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily; and why older persons, especially if vain or important, cannot learn at all."

So humility is required. I think 'wonder' is also needed. I must be curious.
Prepare for Battle—Stand Firm in Truth
Preparing for battle isn’t easy. You have to anticipate the attacks, strategize your response, and be ready to face them head-on. Once you’re in the fight, there’s no running, no hiding—only standing firm. If you are a Christian leading with biblical truth, you need to be prepared. The enemy is relentless. His mission is clear—to steal, kill, and destroy anything that advances God’s Kingdom. And if you plan on stepping out in faith and boldly walking in who God has called you to be, expect resistance. 🔥 The attacks will come. 🔥 Words will get twisted. 🔥 People will play the victim. 🔥 Distractions will try to pull you off course. But remember this: God has already equipped you for the battle. 🛡️ Put on the full armor of God. 🛡️ Stand firm in truth. 🛡️ Know that He fights for you. The battles will come in different forms. Not everyone will see the truth for what it is. Some will twist your words, others will try to manipulate situations, but don’t waver. What God has called you to do is bigger than any attack the enemy throws your way. Stay strong. Keep fighting the good fight. His ways are higher, His plan is greater, and victory is already won. Who’s ready to stand firm and fight for what matters? Drop a ✊ in the comments! #FaithInBusiness #SpiritualWarfare #StandFirm #GodsPlan #ArmorOfGod #ChristianLeadership #BusinessLeadersNetwork

Virtual Summit
What are your thoughts on virtual summits? I've had some interest in my live event but it is too far for some. Since I don't have another live events lined up in February yet I thought maybe trying to add a virtual summit

Virtual summits give me more choices. I was on vacation in December and still able to attend part of a virtual summit. I think it’s a good option if you have sessions where the guest can introduce themselves and interact at least a little.
Move DON'T Think
In a funk? Stressed? The prospect of 2025 weighing you down? James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, had the following thought on how to de-funkify yourself: "You are better equipped to deal with stress when you are moving. When you feel tense or frustrated or worried, it is difficult to think your way into feeling better. The more you think about the situation, the larger it becomes in your mind. Trying to think your way out of it often leads to a spiral of overthinking and rumination. The first step is not to think something different, but to do something different. It doesn’t matter what. Stretch on the floor, go for a walk, work on a project. Get out of your mind and move your body." Do you agree? Why? Do you disagree? Why?

Doing something can also be ‘avoiding’. “Simply” thinking is generally not helpful but writing the question/issue and potential solutions can be helpful. I find writing by hand very useful. I also find walking down the hall or in the backyard while thinking to be very constructive. If it is very complex, then laying it out on paper and then letting it go by leaving for a run or even sleeping on it can lead to great insights and courses of action, including who to contact and ask for advice. There is never just one answer.
