Hello everyone, my name is Angel Chidebe. I’m originally from Nigeria but I live in the United States and I graduated From George Fox University with an MBA in Finance. I have previously worked In supply chain, procurement, project management fields for some years but I’m in the process of transitioning my career to Cybersecurity. Truthfully, I’ve had to lie my way through job interviews fresh out of Grad school because I didn’t receive coaching on the job market and because I had no prior experience in my field of study but eventually when I got hired I discovered that I was better at hands on experience as it shaped my mindset and memory. I was recently affected by the mass layoffs but I noticed workers in Cloud and cybersecurity fields weren’t affected. This peaked my interest in pursuing a cybersecurity career. Currently in at ground zero with no experience. I’m looking to learn everything about cybersecurity in-depth so I can know and execute it at the tip of my fingers. This way I can defend myself in every interview setting even without prior job experience and also perform excellently in any role I get. I’m aware that IT is the new trend and will remain consistent forever so I want to hop onboard and fortify myself with the necessary skills. What do I hope to get out of Cybersecurity? A high earning career with competitive salaries, diverse specialization paths, a strong job market due to the increasing need for digital protection, and the chance to develop in-demand technical and strategic skills that are valuable across many industries are all what I hope to get out of this career path. I know I can’t expect it all to happen in a day but I’m eager to start from level 0 and build my way up. All i know is that it’s achievable so there’s no fear as long as I put in the work, which I’m not stranger to. Overall, I’m eager to learn and I have no excuses on why I wouldn’t take this opportunity seriously if considered.
