VIX and IVR for Strategies
Markus, I am having AI run daily reports for me. In the spreadsheet I provide today and yesterday VIX as well as IVR of yesterday and today for tickers I'm interested in. I of course focus on higher IVR for selling premium and lower IVR for buying options. My question, do you have any formulas for what you look for based on strategies. Right now, I'm trying to only sell options when IVR and VIX is less than yesterday but higher than my minimum amount hoping that means it is now pulling in. Selling options right now, is the area I may be weakest on. I choose stocks that fly up, sell a cc, and then focus on managing out of it. LOL

so you pretty much follow the tastytrade formulas?
3/30/26: What option strategies are you going with?
I'm still limited on the amount of options ive been selling. Are you going with spreads right now? I have been very conservative and mostly gold, oil servicers, and sgov.

@Courtney Shannon Amber i was using sh, sqqq (inverse type etfs). I was struggling buying puts because the spreads between bids and asks were so wide i didn't want to have a big gap to overcome. I really haven't done a lot of spreads, this week I just started. I prefer doing standard long calls and puts and keep it a simple directional bet.
Strategy the past few weeks
What have you focused on these past few weeks? This is my first losing month since around June of last year. I'm realizing I need some more tools as being directional is getting tougher. However, my indicators are getting sharper. :) I thought this was interesting, I shared in my skool community. I have been ulta conservative being heavy in cash. I'm looking forward to when I can get more aggressive.

Any thoughts on this option play?

Agree with the point around earnings. It is a drone military play that has been on fire this past week. I bought lots of 100s to do 1 week covered calls to basically scalp a weeks profits. So far I have been successful on about 3 lots and asked AI for option suggestion. I personally like the gaining appreciation on shares and hoping covered call caps since I had a 4 dte on them. It's a cheaper stock so I was more aggressive on my plays. If it went down, I was fine holding based on income generated from high iv.
Gameplan for 3/8 ?
Do you have a gameplan for this week heading into more volatility? I'm trying to hide out but have a few positions that are going to take a hit.

I had one of those moments this week. I do more trading stocks than selling options but with premiums up Im adding more options in my portfolio. I sold a strangle on NBIS (my fav stock for long term) the night before Nvidia bought 10% of the company. Ouch. I always like having 2x the stock as my delta on my short call so I still came out ahead but not if I had just held the stock which is the way I handle it a high majority of the time. By the way, the NVDA and NBIS partnership will be such a good thing in the future. Keep NBIS on your radar. It's essentially a company with the talent of a hyperscaler with the mentality of a start-up. They were Yandex (Russian Google) and had to unload majority of their company to diversify officially away from Russia. Now, they are determined to build it back up to size. Bezos when heavy in one of their investments and Jensen Huang has entered a 2 Billion inventment for 10% of company. I personally think several of the hyper scalers may try and buy them in the future if they can. Tesla and Google both make a lot of sense.
