Blurb Feedback
Jill's been helping me with positioning for my new series (F1 romance) and I've revised the hook and blurb for the first book in the series, Hot Lap. I'm trying to balance cheeky humor with emotional depth. Would love any feedback. Thanks, all! ------------------ A burlesque dancer, a Formula 1 champ, and a wedding ring walk into a Vegas bar... What happens next isn’t a joke—it’s Maiken Lange’s first hot lap in a race she never meant to join. I wake up in a luxury hotel suite with a hangover, a massive diamond on my finger, and a husband I don’t remember marrying. F1 champion Reece Pritchard is razor-sharp, disciplined, and somehow both amused and completely serious about our situation. Then his raging a-hole of a father barges in and starts tossing insults, and I decide this whole thing must be a bad joke. So I bolt. Spoiler Alert: It’s not a joke. Reece texts me a copy of our marriage certificate. Next thing I know, I’m flying first class to the Qatar Grand Prix, dodging paparazzi, and wondering how pasties and rhinestones got me a front-row seat on the starting grid. Reece is calm under pressure, careful with the truth, and sweeter than I expected from someone who drives like the devil’s chasing him. But beyond races and podiums, there’s a brewing family feud, a $25 million contract on the line, and a man trying to define success on his own terms. And me? I’m the wildcard no one anticipated, but maybe the one he needs most when the lights go out. I didn’t expect to fall for him. He never planned on needing me. But the longer we stay in this race, the more we want to win it together. A whirlwind, steamy romance full of high-octane cars, spectacular retro fashion, and slow-burn longing, Hot Lap is perfect for fans of Lauren Asher’s Dirty Air and Drive to Survive-obsessed romance junkies.

@Monica Ross Writing blurbs is a form of hell. I don’t know this genre at all, but I found the copy charming. Two thoughts occurred to me: Waking up with the wedding ring implies (to me) that will create complications for her. And what will she lose if the marriage/relationship doesn’t last?
Series Covers Complete - Open to Feedback
I went underground for the past month to focus on synopses and covers. Finally, covers for my original 6 book series are complete. I posted the first one previously but wanted to share all to see if they make it clear that they’re heavy action Florida Conspiracy Thrillers. Would love to hear what you think. Thanks!
