Okay Okay Okay... This one is on me for letting our segment of "Monday Conversation" fall short for a bit here.... BUT IT"S BACK!!!!! So for today's MONDAY CONVERSATION, WE all want to know..... WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW? In terms or training.... Are you training for a race ? Are you recovering form injury? Just running for fun ? Running from the police ? What the heck are you doing? ( @Tor Carter-imsland are you even running? ) *Shots fired. We have had some amazing new additions to Eat Cake Run Club so this will be fun to see what everyone is up to. Hello, thank you for this. I am training for a race I have my first 100k (2k swim 80k ride and 18k run) triathlon in July.

@Vincent McGee yes it’s coming round quick, it’s going well, it’s mainly bike focus right now with my coaches “bring on the power” program it’s tough but good.

Current 20 mile Bomb 💣💥 Streak is at ZERO. We will see if "Alexa can get us going again" IYKYK However for real here are my thoughts for you all... EAT CAKE RUN CLUB BIG RUN WEEKEND EP: 25 is a reminder that consistency isn’t loud—it’s stubborn. BIG RUN WEEKEND, isn’t about chasing numbers, perfect conditions, or some magical burst of motivation. Big Run Weekend exists for the days when you’d rather not, when the schedule is tight, the weather’s off, or your energy just isn’t there. This is where Eat Cake Run Club leans in. Where we choose effort over excuses and prove—again—that showing up imperfectly is still showing up strong. By now, the New Year glow has long faded. Resolutions have been tested by real life, and progress may not look the way we imagined back in January. But here’s the truth: this is the part that actually counts. Week 25 is about building grit, not hype. It’s about doing hard things even when no one’s watching and there’s no finish-line celebration waiting. Big Run Weekend is the spark that carries us through the year—not because it’s easy, but because it teaches us who we are when it’s not. If you need a reset, a reminder, or a reason to keep going—this weekend is it. Show up. Do something hard. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Not a long run this weekend it’s a fast one, it’s 5k test time, let’s see if i can improve!

How are you all? So it wasn’t a long run for me this week but a quick one with a 5k run test. I managed quicker, not PB 5k (set in 2024 on a flat straight course) but quicker than my last at the same course and I believe my fastest 5k I the last year 🎉

Not running but it’s a bike training win.
Morning all, hope you are well l. I have shared here that my coach’s coachees are all boys apart from me, we have all been doing a bike program called being on the power and I have had a cheeky #BeatTheBoys campaign going (with permission of the boys) well it’s FTP week and the results are in. I achieved a 10% FTP increase and beat five of the boys one just sneaked ahead of me with an 11% increase. The next down from me was a 4% increase so I am very proud of myself and wanted to share with you all. Happy Wednesday 🩷

@Peg Lawler I now have five more weeks of the course then another test so I am aiming to beat them all next time.
