Film Lengthssssss ๐Ÿ
Just trying to gauge how many minutes I should deliver for each wedding film? What does the average film look like for yโ€™all for an elopement? Vs a whole wedding day? Or maybe even vs a wedding day of a couple who is a little camera-shy??? Would love yโ€™allโ€™s thoughts!

I don't know if this is helpful but when I got married (it was destination in Italy so keep that in mind as well) our videographer offered a few packages and we went with the one where we got a 1 minute teaser, a 5 minute trailer, and a 20 minute full length film but i'd say about 15 minutes of that was our speeches
~for those of you who don't know me~
Hi everyone! I'm Amanda. Hopefully you all have time on your hands (and hopefully this is even allowed lol). I'm here after a couple of signs from the universe, and I don't know where to start so hopefully I don't confuse you all๐Ÿ˜… I was working full time for a tech startup and was let go last week after working there for 7 years. It was a total gut punch and I'm really upset and nervous because my husband and I bought our first home 4 months ago, so it came at a really sucky time. Here is where video comes in: I started my content capturing (I hate content creator title lol) side hustle last March - instagram.com/beyondyourday. I've always loved editing videos, worked in the wedding industry before, and I live in NJ where you unfortunately need multiple incomes to be able to afford a home ๐Ÿ™ƒ I love content capturing and editing so I've been REALLY tempted to get into videography. Here's where the universe signs come in: I wasn't happy at my 9-5 and have been trying to decide if I should take the leap into videography and now with being let go, I feel like this may have been the push I needed. I also came across this podcast and page last week, so it's all some coincidental timing. The only thing holding me back from taking this leap is 1: my crippling imposter syndrome 2: I'm not exactly a gearhead and don't know where to start as far as equipment goes I am trying to push myself every day - even posting this is a little terrifying - so I'm hoping I can come back to this post in a few months and be really proud of how far I've come. If you made it this far and didn't stop after seeing "content creator"... thank you ๐Ÿซถ

@Analise Porter Thank you! I'm definitely excited for the flexibility ๐Ÿ˜… I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that deals with this, and I know in the beginning it'll be even worse but I'll try to keep positive. Thank you!!

@Abby Porter Thank you!! I have been so scared but keep trying to tell myself that these are all normal feelings and I'm not just being a big baby lol. Thank you so much!!
Progress?
Hi everyone! I'm back with a very small update. [To catch you up if you don't remember, I'm the content creator who got laid off from her full time and figured it's a sign from the universe to get into something I've wanted to do for a while: videography.] Since my first post, I have (and continue to) faced several identity crises, including trying to start a content creation brand for businesses. I am still questioning what I'm doing and still very scared about literally everything but I finally got a business credit card (so I have time to pay everything off๐Ÿซ ) and bought a professional camera and some other equipment. I have no idea if it'll be enough but I will figure it out ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™ƒ My cousin is hosting an event this Sunday so I think I'll take this camera and see how everything comes out. I'll try to update you all afterwards โ˜บ๏ธ
