Struggling with getting rid of abdominal fat
I was wondering if anybody has any tips beyond a calorie deficit/protein for getting rid of love handles/abdominal fat. I started my fitness journey at 150. Over a year and a half I got up to 195 and then decided to cut. The start went well. I’ve lost 25 pounds and am now down to about 16/17% body fat. My arms and chest are pretty much skin and muscle, but my love handles and abs still have a lot of fat on them. Now my progress has completely stalled out. It seems like whenever I try to deficit, my body prioritizes muscle consumption over fat consumption and I just get weaker while keeping my body fat. I’m trying to prioritize high protein foods still and tracking calories. Any tips to deal with this?

There’s one thing that really helped me when I first started cutting and it was stoping with any sugary drink. The only things I drank were water and black coffee, no sugar and no milk. It’s a really small thing but really helpful.
