Blood work
Hi! Are there any specific blood panels you recommend asking for during an annual physical?

This is a tricky and much more involved question for 2 reasons: 1) It lightly assumes you need blood work for a check up. 2) Assuming you should have blood work, the question then would be “why”. In the first case, the body will do everything it can and exhaust all possibilities before anything shows up in excess or deficient in your blood… therefor, by the time any of these show up, it is extremely late and there are many signs I use in my Neuro-Metabolic assessments and scans that gives us warning signs beforehand. In the second case, I there are many things in the blood that seemingly are unassociated and I order together because they help form a better connection of what is happening. For example, ordering specific vitamin labs or a simple CBC could have peces of a puzzle that a hormone or metabolic panel on its own won’t be able to comprehensively answer. Thus, not only should your doctor be well versed in neurochemistry before ordering but also Not ordering could provide answers that are thought to be complete but simply are not and far from the truth in many cases. In general, get a CBC and full metabolic panel to give you a starting point on what you may need/want to order next. Hope this helps!
Vision & Locomotion (Walking)... A seriously overlooked connection
Did you know that how your eyes move, especially quick-targeted movements (called saccades) can directly affect how you walk? A growing body of research, including the study attached here) highlight how impaired saccades are linked to unstable gait, increased fall risk, and reduced mobility... and they are worse after brain injuries, vestibular dysfunction, or neurological conditions; the majority of which, in my experience, almost always go un-detected. At Neuro Power, we take an integrated approach to brain and body performance regardless of age. Using a variety of brain exercises, we target saccadic reaction times, visual-motor coordination, and peripheral awareness. These sessions not only help improve visual processing speed, but also restore the neuro-motor connections essential for safe, confident walking, balance and yes, they even play a role in hormonal balancing for women! Why does this matter? Faster saccades = better reaction time Sharper visual-motor integration = improved balance Better gaze stability = safer gait and reduced fall risk ... and all of this = decreased threat perception; which = decreased startle reflex, which = decreased stress, which = Better NeuroMetabolic Responses = Rejuvenation!!!!! Whether you’re trying to balance your hormones, increase your health & fitness for powerful independent living or just want to optimize your movement and cognition, we can help retrain your visual and vestibular systems so your brain and body can move and function in sync again. We offer comprehensive NeuroMetabolic & Neurophysiologic brain exams to develop specific programs for your unique needs! Message us today for more info! There is hope and there is science behind your recovery! P.S. EVERYONE in this awesome group is striving to achieve very similar goals... you must take initiative and ask questions or promote group discussions to gain the most out of this. What are you currently struggling with that you would like us to clarifying on our next post or video?

@Carolyn Young Yes, regardless of age. If these eye movements and neural circuits are defective - balance, growth and even immune deficiencies are taking place. Some develop immediately and/or more severely than others, but a great variety of issue & complications can and will continue to arise or worsen. All stemming from neurological complications that can be caught with eye movements and other specific functional neurological testing.
Your Second Heart/Lymphatic Pump??!!??!!
Well, as far as circulation goes, your heart doesn't work alone. I continually remind my clients at the Neuro Power Center that the 4 major sources of impulse/signals to the brain (in order of importance and area occupied in brain) are: 1. Vision 2. Vestibular 3. Position & Movement of the Neck 4. Proprioception from the Feet This said, we have more lymph fluid floating in our body than we do blood... 4 TIMES THE AMOUNT! ... but unlike the circulatory system and heart, our lymphatic system has no pump... or does it!?!?! Our legs muscles perform the heroic task if pushing venous blood from your legs back to your heart, defying gravity every time they contract/MOVE. That's why some people called the soles muscle the "second heart"! Why is it so important? Because when you activate it can: - Improve circulation - Prevent blood clots and venous stasis - Reduces leg swelling - Protect your cardiovascular health - Support and Pump your Immune/Lymphatic System So... What can you do for it? Give it movement. If you spend many hours sitting or standing: - Walk for a few minutes - Lift your heels repeatedly - Flex your ankles - Make circles with your feet - Squat 10 times whenever you remember to do so... ... if that sounds like a lot when the thought crosses your mind because you just did some an hour ago... then just do 3! If you thought of it, your body is craving it!!! Small actions over time produces results you and others will notice! Get moving!!!

Your Second Heart/Lymphatic Pump??!!??!!
I'm doing the right things but my Gut Health still sucks?!?!
Many women are eating “clean,” taking the supplements, doing all the gut health things they find online but still feel bloated, constipated, or uncomfortable... why does this happen??? 1. Not all supplements are created equal and most over the counter ones we have checked contain fillers and toxins they never have to tell you about. 2. Your gut can’t function when your nervous system is stuck in survival mode. 3. Chronic stress not only slows digestion but can impair it full stop. 4. ... no amount of probiotics can override a body that thinks it’s under threat. You must remember how to specifically DO things to purposefully affect your Autonomic Nervous system and send proper signals both from your gut to your brain and vice versa. Lmk if you are interested in hearing more about this. For now: 1. Remember to take time to breath with your diaphragm especially for 3-5 minutes before eating to regain a state of calmness and begin a proper digestive process... (hint: digestion does not start with eating). 2. Take a 10min walk after eating to facilitate digestion. Lmk if this is helpful...
