Who has a run planned this weekend?
Mine’s planned for Sunday. Saturday is always a day for shopping and getting straight at home - and getting a dinner ready to come back to after being out running. Which day are you out?

@Gabrielle O'Hare thank you!
What’s your proudest running moment?
In May this year I entered a 10k race - with no intention of actually racing. The year before I’d pulled out of the same event because of knee problems, and I remember thinking on the journey there, that simply getting to the start line was an achievement. By the time we crossed the finish line it was raining so we headed back to the van. We were just about to get going and I heard my name being shouted over the tannoy. I thought I must have lost something, but it turned out I’d come first in my age group! I couldn’t stop laughing. I am not a natural or talented runner. I was awful at school - so to win my first medal at 53 was something I never expected. It just goes to show - we can bounce back now and do more than we ever thought possible. What’s your most memorable run?

My GFA attempt... I ran 6 mins (and 1 juicy second) under the standard, only for the standard to be dropped by another 5 mins before place allocation. Meant I was then 2 mins "too slow" to get a place.... but I got what I trained for on the day... at 50 years old I was so proud!

I'm looking forwards to helping you get back to enjoying running and feeling like yourself again To learn how to get clarity, a plan and the motivation to become a stronger, leaner runner in the next 2 weeks watch this short video here. Then, go and introduce yourself to the group - tell us a little bit about your running history, how menopause has affected you, and the main thing you want to get out of this next 2 weeks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvmoukf4gDc

Hi! I'm Ali. Am 52 mum of two, primary school teacher and have been active in competitive sports since child hood. I have loved running and been consistent for years, enjoying the racing and social. I run for so many reasons but am now struggling after needing gynae surgery (large cyst, tubes and ovaries removed) last October which pushed me into surgical menopause. Running now feels hard, with the biggest issue being joint / muscle aches and recovery being different. I have London in April and where I would usually be training for a time, I am having to shift the mindset to the goal being getting through uninjured.... what I have previously done now feels not enough. Thank you for this Gabrielle. A great opportunity for us all to learn, adapt and progress.
