New J4K gloves day!
Got our first set of J4K 3G gloves. 👀 Nate put them to the test playing coaches and parents vs U11 today. Made some spectacular saves 🎉. Great fit and he really likes the improved grip. All in all an excellent performance report 💪

PARENTS - WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
Guys, I received a DM from a parent this week and, with their permission, wanted to share it here 👇 Their son has played for the same team for three years. Never missed games. Turned up every week. Fully committed. 💙⚽ A few weeks ago, he picked up an injury and had to miss a handful of matches 🤕 During that time, the coach put an outfield player in goal. When the young keeper returned to training, fit and ready to play, the coach told him he would only get half a game, because he now had to “fight for his place”. This really upset both the parent and the goalkeeper (who is still very young). After three years of loyalty, it felt unfair and confusing 😔 The parent spoke to the coach to explain how much this had knocked her son’s confidence — to the point where he started saying he didn’t want to play in goal anymore 💔🧤 The coach’s response?“What would you do if your head was on my shoulders?” Now, I know some grassroots coaches — especially at kids’ level — look in the mirror and see Pep Guardiola staring back at them 😅 But parents and goalkeepers…What would you do in this situation? UPDATE: Just found out that the stand in goalkeeper does not want to stay in goal - Was only playing to help out.

@Daniel Harris yes, I agree. The younger the keeper, the more the emphasis should be on cultivating confidence. This is where goalkeeping is different. You want to keep the safe environment for the youngest keepers to grow into confident U13+ keepers. In this context, it’s good for the coach to have a back up. But it crushes the keepers confidence. There’s enough time for competition later on. It should not be a driving factor at grassroots level- especially with the little ones.
SUCCESS Sunday - What Was Your Win This Week?
Each week, I invite you to share your biggest win. This isn't about the scoreline, but rather what aspects of your goalkeeping you improved or what new product you got to enhance your game. Additionally, can you name three things you are grateful for? These don't have to be goalkeeper-related. The reason I do this is simple: everyone has tough weeks. Reflecting on and writing down your recent wins and what you're grateful for is a PROVEN way to realise that life is pretty great and you're a very lucky person. To get you started, here’s my win and what I'm thankful for this week: MY WIN: Getting over 6500 members and growing in this community, WHAT I AM GRATEFUL FOR: 1. Finally getting the free course live for you guys. 2. The amazing weather we have been having. 3. Adding another 9 goalkeepers to the J4K goalkeeper glove sponsorship program. Share your win below and what you’re grateful for. Let's keep INSPIRING each other - Comment below, whats your wins.👇👇👇 And Remember, you are ALOT better off than what you may think ❤️

CALLING ALL YOU GLOVE DESIGNERS...🧤
Guys, I and my team are going to be redesigning the J4K 3G.. So for you guys who are looking to maybe develop your own goalkeeper glove in the future, this can give you some good practice. And if me and the J4K pick your design, or even part of your design - When these gloves come in the new year, we will send you one pair in each colour - So it will be 3 goalkeeper gloves in total.

Ordered Nate his first pair of the 3G, so might be back here with some ideas once we’ve seen them in action ! 👀🤔

I think Stuart has a point. Wet old Adidas will do the same for you 🤪 But yes - non grip would make sense for training . Makes the keeper decide if the ball needs to be caught or if it’s better to get it out the box quickly.
