How ready is Fabric today?
Hi Will, I came across several online discussions suggesting that Fabric may not yet be ready or mature enough for large, enterprise-scale projects. I wanted to get your thoughts on this. Are there scenarios where you wouldn’t recommend transitioning to Fabric yet? Which features do you feel are the least ready? What major limitations do you currently see? I’d love to hear about your experience using Fabric in an enterprise context. Your insights would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

@Will Needham Yes, the costs remains the same at the end. I’m comparing with Databricks with job compute and for my use case is better. Thanks for the advice.

@Will Needham Yes, and in terms of performance the worlkload works well in Fabric compared to Databricks. That’s not the problem, is the CU usage. We have not a use case that we load the data constant times per day, we work with many clients and we need to execute many process, almost all day we have clusters on. I think we are using the best of both worlds because se are using Fabric for reports via custom app with custom node connector and file generation for clients using pipelines, also for orchestration. And we are using Databricks for the T of ETL and load the data in Fabric with delta paths
Microsoft Fabric DataOps Reference Architecture, plus sample templates
Microsoft have released a new 'reference architecture' for DataOps in Microsoft Fabric - lots of interesting stuff in here. From the GitHub repo: "This sample aims to provide customers with a reference end-to-end (E2E) implementation of DataOps on Microsoft Fabric, covering non-functional aspects such as observability, security, data quality, and testing. It is designed as a reference implementation and should be customized to meet specific customer requirements." Passed the DP-600!
Hey everyone! I recently took and passed the DP-600 exam, and I wanted to share my experience and the resources that helped me along the way. A bit about me - I graduated recently and started working as a Data Consultant. I earned my PL-300 in November and have been using Power BI since then. I also have some SQL knowledge from my school days. What Helped Me the Most? ✅ Will's DP-600 Prep Videos Absolute game-changer! The way he breaks down concepts and walks through hands-on demos made learning easy and practical. Following along with him helped me get truly comfortable with the platform. 📚 Microsoft Learn Materials Quite helpful in reinforcing concepts. The practice assessments are definitely easier than the actual exam, but they're great for identifying areas to focus on. 📝 Skool Community Notes A fantastic resource that helped clarify key topics! ❓Exam Topics & Exam Prepper Highly recommend both for practice questions! - Exam Topics has a lot of discussions and more questions, but you need contributor access for full access. Free Exam Prep By IT Professionals | ExamTopics - Exam Prepper is free and great for extra practice, though with fewer discussions and questions. Exams | Examprepper Final Thoughts The exam is definitely more challenging than the practice assessments, so hands-on experience is key! If you're preparing, don't skip Will's content, use the Skool resources, and get as much hands-on experience as possible! Huge thanks to Will and this amazing community for all the support. 🙌 Wishing everyone studying for DP-600 the best of luck! 💪

Introducing ownership takeover for Fabric items(!)
Big news! Microsoft introduce Take Over feature for Fabric items: https://blog.fabric.microsoft.com/en-US/blog/introducing-ownership-takeover-for-fabric-items/ This has been one of the big challenges in managing Fabric in an enterprise environment to date. When the creator/ owner of your Fabric items leaves your company, it was previously very difficult to re-assign the ownership of their items.
