Closing the Free Community
Dear underdogs, As you may have all noticed, the community has been dying down. I run my whole business exclusively with the help of @Cinzia Sirbu, and we simply do not have much spare time. The paid community, Underdog Sales Academy, has been growing like crazy, and my time is tied up there. The free community will close in the next 14 days. If you wish to join the paid community, you can check it here: https://underdogsales.lpages.co/elite/ Thanks for being part of the community. I hope it helped everyone. Happy Dialling. Giulio

@Giulio Segantini Sad to see this, Giulio. I genuinely learned a lot from the community and really appreciated the openness and support here. If I told you not to shut it down, I know it wouldn’t change much haha — but still had to say it! Wishing you and Cinzia continued success with the Underdog Sales Academy. You’ve built something solid, and I’m grateful I got to be part of it.
"Follow up until one of you dies"
I made a post asking how long I should continue to follow up with someone before just giving up. Giulio commented something like "keep calling until one of you dies". And it's still the best advice I've gotten in regards to sales! After TWO YEARS of reaching out to a contact regularly, and getting pushed off every time, I finally got the sale today!!! I had actually just spoke to my contact last week and he pushed me off again, but the next day he reached out and put me in touch with the owner. And he put in a good word for me to the owner, making my job of selling my services that much easier. Just wanted to share the importance of following up regularly (and for eternity lol) with contacts and standing out so when they do have a need, you're the first person they think to reach out to. If nothing else, this should give you hope when you call a contact for the 800th time and get turned down or pushed off for the 800th time-- it'll turn into something... eventually!

Absolutely agree—this story perfectly illustrates the power of persistence in sales. It's often said that 80% of sales require at least five follow-ups, yet many salespeople give up after just one or two attempts. Thanks for sharing this inspiring example!
"Ever been hit with the 'I’m not interested' line within 10 seconds of your pitch?
Here’s the thing: Most objections aren’t objections—they’re reflex responses. Your prospect’s guard is up because they’re used to pushy salespeople. Instead of pushing back, try this: 💡 Example: Prospect: "I’m not interested." You: "Completely understand, [Name]. A lot of people I speak to feel the same way at first. Out of curiosity, is it because you’re already working with someone, or is it timing?

@Joe Parker Welcome to "Getting rejected" Club 😅 We’ve all been there—it’s like a rite of passage in cold calling! The 'Not interested' brush-off can be brutal, but it’s also a great learning moment. Do you usually stick with one opener, or do you switch it up based on the vibe?

@Joe Parker Experimenting is the best way to figure out what works for you. I’ve found that having a few openers tailored to different situations or moods helps a lot—it keeps things fresh and adaptable. Keep testing and tweaking—you’ll find what feels natural and gets people talking 👍
New to Sales. Happy to Level Up.
Hi everyone. Happy to be here, learn and contribute. I'm new to sales and looking to level up my own sales skills as well as build a commission-based sales team for my automation/content agency. Looking forward to going through all the coursework and sharing progress. I saw the threads on book recommendations, a few of which are already on my reading list. All the best to everyone, Joe

@Joe Parker Sounds like you’ve got a solid plan. Starting with cold calls is a smart move—it’s the quickest way to test and refine your pitch in real-time. Once you’ve nailed it, transitioning to cold emails will definitely help scale your outreach.
Be Comfortable with Silence
After asking a question or addressing an objection, stop talking. Silence can feel uncomfortable, but it gives the prospect time to process your words and respond. Rushing to fill the silence can make you seem unsure or pushy. Trust the process, silence can work in your favor. What do you think?

@Lucas Gomez I couldn’t agree more—silence is such a powerful tool in sales. I don’t recall exactly where, but I’ve heard this suggestion before, and it was a very helpful for me too. That pause after quoting a price or addressing an objection can feel awkward at first, but it’s incredible how it shifts the dynamic. It’s like giving the prospect space to really think and often even justify the price themselves. Definitely a strategy worth mastering! Thanks for bringing it up—reminds me I need to practice it more.
