September 26th, 2025: Reframing Challenge (for Thought Management Course)
Wayne Dyer: âIf you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change." Thatâs the ultimate power of reframing. The same exact event can crush us or refine us. The difference isnât in what happens - itâs in the thoughts we choose about what happens. Instead of âWhy me?â Iâm experimenting with âWhat can this teach me? Where is the growth hiding in this experience?â Pain is still real. Life is still challenging. Thatâs part of being human. Reframing doesnât erase difficulty. Reframing helps you look from a different angle than the one that makes you a victim of your circumstances. This past year has been incredibly challenging on multiple levels (and exciting and growth-producing, too). Many times my brain ran the narrative: âI canât do this. This will not work. Iâm wasting my time.â Those thoughts created feelings of hopelessness and defeat. Which led to shutting down. Which led to delaying the process. So, practicing what I preach: I paused, took some cleansing breaths, and reframed... âOkay, Plan A didnât work. What did I learn? What wants to emerge instead?â That single shift moved me into curiosity, which opened the door to problem-solving and creativityâand from there, new possibilities I never would have seen. Nothing changed externally. Internally thoughâmy thoughts, my feelings, my focusâall shifted. Thatâs the magic of reframing. Whatâs a challenge in your life that might hold a different story than the one your brain is automatically running? How could you reframe it into an opportunity for growth or learning? You canât always control what happens. But you can choose what it means.
