I agree… So far better digestion, less foggy, less hair loss.
❤️‍🩹Emotional Neglect & the Nervous System
Many adults who struggle with Hashimoto’s, autoimmunity, chronic stress, anxiety or difficulty trusting others grew up in households where their basic physical needs were met… food, clothes, a roof… but their emotional needs were not😞 This is called emotional neglect and it is, unfortunately, extremely common. So common, in fact, that many people describe their childhood as “normal” because society has normalized parents being too stressed, exhausted, distracted, or overwhelmed to be emotionally present💼 But for a child, emotional presence is not optional. Their nervous system is still developing, so they borrow regulation from the adults around them. When caregivers are not emotionally available, the child has to learn to self-soothe alone, long before they are developmentally ready. This teaches the child’s body: “I can only rely on myself. I’m safest when I don’t need anyone.”🏃‍♀️ Over time, this shapes both the nervous system and the immune system. 🌱 What Emotional Neglect Can Look Like It doesn’t require abuse or “bad parenting.” It often looks like a normal childhood from the outside. Examples include: - parents who are stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, anxious or burned out - a home with frequent yelling, tension, or unpredictable emotional climate - moving often, switching schools or constant instability - parents frequently changing partners or environments - caregivers who work too much, are distracted or unavailable - households where emotions are minimized (“stop crying,” “you’re fine,” “don’t be dramatic”) - being forced to be independent too early - taking care of siblings or managing adult emotions (parentification) - a lack of comfort, attunement or emotional conversation None of this has to be intentional, it’s often a result of generational patterns, stress or lack of support. But the child’s body doesn’t interpret these experiences logically. It interprets them biologically. 🌿How Emotional Neglect Shapes the Body: When emotional presence is missing, the child’s nervous system quietly learns:

🌿 Lectins & Oxalates and Why They Matter for Autoimmunity
Lectins and oxalates are natural plant compounds that some people tolerate well but for many with autoimmune issues like Hashimoto’s, gut inflammation or nutrient deficiencies, they can be especially problematic. Lectins are proteins found in foods like beans, grains, nuts and nightshades. They can irritate the gut lining, increase inflammation and interfere with nutrient absorption, all of which can worsen autoimmune flares. Oxalates are compounds that bind to minerals like calcium, magnesium and iron. When they accumulate(build up in the body), they can reduce mineral absorption, stress the kidneys and trigger joint pain, fatigue and inflammation. For people with Hashimoto’s or other autoimmune conditions, lowering foods high in lectins and oxalates can help: ✨ calm the gut ✨ reduce inflammation ✨ improve nutrient absorption ✨ support thyroid and immune function Being aware of these foods and keeping them lower can make a big difference in how you feel <3

☕️ Avoid Coffee on an Empty Stomach
Many people start their day with coffee right after waking up but this can actually increase inflammation and stress on your body 💛 When you drink coffee before eating: - Cortisol (your stress hormone) spikes right away 📈 - Blood sugar becomes unstable 🎢 - Stomach acid and digestion are disrupted - Adrenals get overstimulated, leading to energy crashes later in the day - Coffee can also contain mold (mycotoxins) that further stress your immune system and liver 😣 🌿Better coffee habits for thyroid and adrenal health 1. Wait 1–2 hours after waking before having caffeine (supplement form is a better alternative) 2. Always have coffee after breakfast or at least with some protein and fat like eggs, collagen or avocado (some even add butter to their coffee!) 3. Choose organic, mold-free coffee if possible, your liver and thyroid will thank you. 4. Stay hydrated with water or herbal tea first thing in the morning. 💬 Remember: Balanced mornings = balanced hormones. When you support your adrenals first, your thyroid, mood and energy naturally follow 🌸
