1 year and 10 years
Jim Rohn said "We overestimate what we can do in 1 year and underestimate what we can do in 10 years". Chatting with @Paul Sirvinskas this morning it was helpful that Paul explained to me that he is on a 10 year plan. What changes when we look at our projects/goals with a ten year plan?

Having a 10-year plan is great, but it's important to also work out shorter term milestones to create urgency. Otherwise 10 years seems like so much time that you can always start tomorrow 😅
This is what I am hearing from you guys
Consistency Over Intensity Success in long-term goals is more often the result of small, daily actions than it is of sudden bursts of extraordinary effort. Helping your kids or students value the "boring" middle part of a project is essential for developing a disciplined character. How do you help your children or students stay committed to a goal once the initial excitement has worn off?

Oof, I would like to know that too 🤔 I'm struggling to motivate my children to focus on long term goals. Pep talk doesn't do much 😅 Best I can do is to keep them on track with some bribes and external rewards. Trying not to overdo it, though. Would like to know at what age it's normal for internal motivation to "kick in"
Perseverance - a double edged sword?
Could perseverance be a double edged sword? If we are persevering in objectives that we are not fully committed to (other people's objectives) is this healthy? Therefore, does that mean we need to be extremely clear on what OUR purpose/objective in life is? Therefore, does that mean we really need to sit down and ask ourselves some hard questions about what our purpose/objective is, rather than just go where our feeling/desire in the moment tells us to go? What does Perseverance mean to you?

Perseverance for me means not giving up just because it's hard. It really helps to sit down and think what we really want, but often we genuinely don't know until we try. Then it becomes really difficult to distinguish whether we feel like stopping because it's hard, or because we now have more information to understand that this wasn't what we were looking for. Been there, done all the wrong choices. At least I hope I learned something each time.
Time is our most precious resource
Money is important, no doubt, and we shouldn't be ashamed of having or needing money. The difference with time is that once we spend it, it is gone, and we can't get it back. So, reflecting on your day, how did you do with investing your time wisely? Don't worry, I will start first:). No judgement here:)

@Andrew Nelson looks like a day well spent 💪
Saying NO isn't that hard
The word NO is a difficult one to say, especially if we are people pleasers. However, it is also extremely liberating. Warren Buffet said he said no to almost everything. Why do you think that is and what were the benefits?

I understand how saying no can be liberating to focus on what you find the most important. Although I do find it difficult in practice. I'm really getting better about saying no to people who aren't that important to me. But when it comes to my family I struggle to find a right balance that works both for me and them 🙄 Often if I say no I just feel guilty afterwards.
