Monumental tailoring done!
Most sane people would not recommend doing this: I have a bespoke Italian suit with Holland & Sherry cloth with a Sable and Cashmere blend that is so beautiful and luxurious with first rate draping. It was made when I was bigger but then I grew bigger still and couldn't wear it. I could never part with it. Then I lost weight and am now a size 44R. The suit coat was a 50R. I had it re-tailored at no small expense as this was a $4000 suit when it was made. The shoulders were narrowed and the rest of the garmet altered to fit. Pants were easy, Jacket was not. However after nearly 4 months I have it back and it is perfect. I am so excited to be able to wear this again. I will post better photos sometime soon.

It looks absolutely phenomenal! Have you checked out Quince? They have some Cashmere cotton blend button ups you might like :)
Introductions Xander
Hi everyone! My name is Xander and I am located in the Chicagoland area. I was introduced to this community as sharing my values in dressing and gentlemanly conduct. I was always fascinated by the gentlemen of centuries past; knights, 19th century gentlemen of the romantics, and my own gentleman farmer ancestors included. It’s something is both aspirational and inspirational to me. Gentlemanly style and grooming is a new element I have begun to study; and I have to say I feel more like myself in a sports jacket and boots than in a graphic tee and blue jeans.

Dating Single Moms
What are your thoughts on a man dating a single mom? Is it a good idea for a man with no children of his own to date a single mom? Does dating a single mom make more sense for a single dad?

I personally wouldn't do it unless it was someone that I was in love with and knew before hand and I wouldn't seek out a single mom.
Styling my new/1st scarf
Did I go any where today, is it really this cold in TX, am I wearing actually pants and not just shorts? No×3. I just really wanted an excuse to post an outfit of the day and try to tie a scarf :)

@Jason Rochester Actually, I have worn one! When I was with my ex she got me into Theater, I played Motel in Fiddler on a Roof and it was part of my costume.
Lovely To See You All Again...
Well Ladies and Gentleman, I know i haven't been active in quite sometime but given what has happened I feel motivated to take a more active role once again in this membership. For those of whom I haven't had the pleasure to meet yet my name is John, i'm from San Diego and like many of you I grew up with heroes that many my age group never knew; The John Waynes, Cary Grants and Sean Connery's of the world. As I got older and my tastes became more refined I came across GentZ ultimately joining the group there. As that room closed down I was invited by others to join the Society Al & Scott built. What awful news of his passing. I share the sentiment that I want to carry the torch with you all. Thank you once again for the invite and I look forward to reconnecting with you all again in the coming days.
