Thinking Out Loud – Food Prep Course 🍽️
I’m playing with the idea of creating a simple food prep course for the community. Nothing fancy. Real food, easy to prep, repeatable meals that fit around training, work, family life, and staying healthy as we get older. Things like: High-protein meals Simple shopping lists Batch cooking that actually saves time Meals that support training & recovery Before I build anything, I’d love your input: 👉 Would a food prep course be useful to you? 👉 What’s your biggest struggle right now – time, ideas, consistency, calories, or cost? Drop a comment and let me know. Your feedback will shape it 👊

Cost, for me. Soups and smoothies win out for me, every time. I've got a few go-tos.
🚀 Our Community Is Growing — Thank YOU! 🙏
I’ve just taken a look at our analytics, and I’m honestly blown away. Not only are our total members increasing week by week… but the activity levels are right up there too. That tells me one thing: this community isn’t just joining — you’re showing up, training, learning, and supporting each other. I just want to say a massive thank you to every single one of you. Whether you're posting, commenting, watching lessons, or quietly working through the training on your own time… you’re a part of this journey, and it means a lot. We’re building something special here — a tribe of martial artists who grow together, push each other, and share the same passion for Kickboxing, Eskrima, Panantukan, and self-improvement. Let’s keep it going. More training. More learning. More challenges. More progress. And always — more support for each other. Thanks again, everyone. We’re only just getting started. 🔥💪

Congrats! You're really doing the thing. I'm glad to have this community. Once I can walk again then I'll be 'engaging' more, too.
Training Space- Where do you train?
I’m curious… what does your training space look like? Do you train outside, in the garden, on the beach, or tucked away in some quiet isolated spot? Or are you more of an indoor person, maybe a homemade garage gym, a spare room turned dojo, or even a fully kitted-out training space? I’ll go first 👇 When I was learning, most of my practice happened in the back garden. Later on, I used to have access to an old boxing gym that had definitely seen better days-but it had character and I loved it. These days I rent out three venues for my physical classes, so I spend most of my time teaching in proper halls and community spaces. But I still love seeing how people carve out their own personal training environments. Drop a photo or tell us about your setup! Where do you train and why do you love it?

As a nomad, I hope to find open, fairly-flat space near camp! If not, I'll find a field or park. Ha, not too exciting an answer.

@Gareth Drury Ugh, I hear you. I spent a year in Michigan, and hit the road as SOON as the lease ended. It's pretty bleak for most of the States about now too, but I'm just outside of Yuma, AZ—which the Guinness book contends, is the sunniest place on Earth! Ha, be jealous. 🙃
How do you size eskrima?
Howdy all, I'm wanting to dip my toe into stickwork, for the flow of it. I've found Tribal Forge's and some others' short and sweet videos for drills, so I have a place to start. I could order rattan from WLE or KIL, but it occurs to me that I don't know the right size for me. I'm six-foot-even, for however that affects the formula. Much obliged 🖖

@Gareth Drury Thanks! I measure ~28", so I'll go with it. Say, does Tribal Forge also sell sticks?

@Jeff Matson Awesome! 🙌 Very inexpensive and lots of options for diameter. What, ¾" to start?
Welcome to The Tribal Forge
🔥 Welcome to The Tribal Forge 🔥 This is the beginning of The Tribal Forge — a community built for martial artists, creators, and warriors who want to grow together. At the core of what we do is the Filipino Martial Arts — Arnis, Eskrima, and Kali — exploring the flow, discipline, and mindset behind them. Here, we’ll be sharing training concepts, drills, discussions, and insights that forge skill, confidence, and connection. Whether you’re a beginner or a lifelong practitioner, this is your place to train, learn, and evolve as part of the tribe. Let’s build something great together. ⚔️

👋 I'm perusing the modern landscape of traditional arts, and just don't have folks to chat with. Casually, I'm cross-training and compiling my favorite drills and forms. I'm hoping to find fellow, broad-thinkers of any experience who want to compare notes. My kwoon's Discord is pretty quiet, although I do get lessons via video call twice-a-week. I'll lurk for a bit, so I'm not intrusive. 🙂 Any interest, and I'll probably overshare.

@Gareth Drury Wow! I'm just getting started! I've been training tiger-crane kungfu, in-person and online, since 2021. I got a green belt in judo last year, but I'm a nomad now, so I can't hit the mat regularly. I have bands though, so I can still drill, and I'm learning a shuai jiao staff throwing method. As we travel, my wife and I are hitting boxing and kickboxing gyms' free trials, which relates to her taekwondo background. I'm interested in stickwork for drills, and so I don't look like a maniac with a sword when I practice in public. I'm particularly interested in karate's makiwari and other hardening (not dissimilar to kungfu's iron fist/belt/body), as well as the grappling concepts built into forms and katas.
