Weekly Wisdom, Assignments, Reminders!
Happy Sunday Team! #HERE are a few recaps, announcements, insights and reminders from this previous week, and upcoming weeks! - Weekly Wisdom➡️"Handle Life, Without a Handle" Routines are comforting. They bring about feelings of security and and consistency. For many of us, routines are how we move forward with our purpose. Yet as we continue to go inward, we feel a deeper sense of expansion, evolution, and exploration of the routines we develop. For example, use this analogy of surfing. Eventually we find that perfect wave and ride out, only to realize that the sand awaits us so that we can go back into the water to ride again. The wave itself if not infinite, however the process of surfing is...well until you get hungry for a surf snack (you get the point )😉 https://getmadfit.blog/2024/06/26/shaman-short-stories-surfing-101/. ...Back to Handles... Within my fitness community, I emphasize variance within our physical experience. Many fitness cultures become one-dimensional with exercises, routines and programs. I am not saying this is bad by any means, however because are multi-dimensional by nature, It only makes sense to express ourselves that way. So when we explore exercises using sandbags and medballs, we rely less upon the traditional routine of a handle, and experience a new way of BEing. #GiftForGrowth: Start by taking a step on the stairs without reaching for the handle, even if it feels steep. You then awaken to the truth that you need less handles in your life. YOU are in control❤️ - Wellness Day recap: Shout out to community members for sweating, plunging, and connecting! @Parke Schweiter @Cat Cassidy @Liz Murnane @Jonathan Barr - Weekly Education: Check out the latest episode of the #JustShowUp podcast! Definitely doing it at bedtime because I need to release the stress of the day. I've done every day and twice on Friday. I found that by the 3rd day, my mind was very calm and my intrusive thoughts were minimal.

I enjoyed the meditation. It was a good one. Definitely think adding more meditation to my daily routine will be helpful. I have a word of the year. Last year it was "peace" but this year is "self-care." I consider meditation part of my self care. I stole a description from a friend that refers to it as "positive solitude." 😊
Weekly Assignment 1/13: Know Your Gears!
Happy Sunday Friends! Hopefully you are all Committed to healthy Eagles pregame activities !😅😜 I am looking forward to our zoom call on Wednesday, January 22nd at 6:30pm. I will post a check in this week to confirm who will be attending. This week, our goal is to be aware of creating balance within our lives ⚖️ I use the phrase "Know Your Gears", typically in reference to workouts and breathing patterns. In the physical performance world, science tells us of a "flow state" that creates optimal performance. It is the balance point within the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Being over-wired potentially leads to over reactive outputs, while being under-stimulated leads to failure to pursue. Rhythm is the center point of being both grounded, and alert. "Perfectly balanced, as everything should be": Thanos...🤔 *Note: This doesn't necessarily mean the being on the 1 or 5 scale of your gears is "bad". It all depends on your intent! (see photo) This phrase does not have to pertain to the physical. Energy within the ether (space) is always trying to come to balance. Consciousness is always trying to become aware of the center point (the heart), which is love, compassion, oneness, and non-judgement. Before learning how to navigate your gears, you must first be aware. Start taking inner notes. This morning even after movement, meditation, plunging, hanging with Jack, drinking a green smoothies/Shaman's brew...I still felt off balance (probably need some sleep!). Sometimes the simple things like taking a mindfulness walk, focusing on the breath, and taking in some sunlight/nature does the trick! When do you feel like you get into flow state?!

I feel flow when I'm working on a topic I'm excited about but I also am a person that can really get into a rhythm with my workouts. I'm made for slow, steady, repetitive movements so treadmill, walking, rowing all get me into a flow.

@Marco Dapkey I want to but I'm also horribly out of practice with most skills. I would love to start with personal training again to get my form back.

1/6 Weekly Assignment: The 5 P's
Happy Sunday Team! Our first Group Zoom Meeting will be Wednesday, January 22nd, from 6:30pm-7:30pm. In addition, I will have open office hours Sunday, January 26th, from 8:30am-9:30am. You can check our community Calendar for all meetings/events! 1/6 Weekly Assignment: The 5 P's The Process of Personal Evolution is a never ending cycle of Pride, Patience, Pursuit, Performance, and Peaking. Integration is an inward process of awareness towards you need to become you best self! -Pride: Honoring your uniqueness. Your ability to create self love/inner awareness is the beginning of your manifestations. Who are you? Who are you meant to BE in this human experience? What serves your Soul? Do you follow your own path, or do you get caught up in others paths that slows your progress? Do you have difficulty understanding your goals? -Patience: Reflection before action. Having inward conversations towards service to self, others, and all life. Does impulsiveness create blockages? Do you struggle with listening to your intuition? Or do you contemplate to long and never take action? -Pursue: Making Fun Possible. Inward motivation that allows you to take action, and gain experience/feedback. Do you sit with fear and let It over consume your ability for growth? Are you limited through beliefs/perspectives? Or do you over pursue that creates an imbalance of service? -Perform: Consistency is KEY. The act of performing is the repetition of the experience in the present moment. How do you create accountability/motivation to continue to gain feedback? Do you have trouble being H.E.R.E and N:OW? Do you over-perform without a clear intention for peaking? -Peak: Experiencing Change and Growth. With practice, you achieve progress. The light begins to show, and excitement grows! How do you apply your evolved state of BEing? Do you ride the high of achievement, leading to complacency and comfortability? Does peaking limit your curiosity to re-develop awareness. For this week, analyze the 5 P's towards your wholeness. Where do you have difficulty? Where do you succeed?

These are meaty questions so I'll have to go one by one: Pride: I have always pursued my passions with a singleness of purpose. I have been praised for my dedication to things but in hindsight I may have been a bit of a bulldozer to some people along the way because I refused to compromise. I have toyed with not having significant goals in the past because I felt personally content with what I have achieved. I feed my soul through learning, nature, connection, and solitude when needed. Patience: I have infinite patience for others but none for myself! I have been chastised on occasion for "putting up with too much" from others but I can see their inner struggle most of the time and I have compassion for that. For myself, my people pleasing nature and perfectionism drive me into the ground and are my biggest self sabotage. I need to treat myself like I treat others. Pursue and Perform: I am very extrinsically motivated but once I have committed to something, I can maintain the momentum (usually). I'm not motivated however through "accountability" coaches. As much as I'm looking for the praise or push, I get irritated. I know that I can do anything I want but I need to work at my own pace and through my own process. If accountability is coming on strong, it usually turns into a motivation through guilt of disappointing the other person and having to hear about my failings for not following through. That annoys me to no end! I don't mind if the process is slow. I can still make progress. Peak: this one I may not truly understand how you are conceptualizing it. I have been in the process of healing from significant grief for the past 3 years. I have allowed myself to share more of my inner journey and I feel more in tune with others through my own inner knowing. 🤷
