Hey everyone! ๐ Todayโs expression is โpushinโ my buttons.โ ๐ค ๐ It means doing something that annoys, irritates, or provokes someone โ often on purpose. Basically, when someoneโs actions or words get on your nerves, theyโre pushing your buttons. Origin: This comes from the metaphor of a machine with buttons. Just like pressing a button on a device triggers a response, certain words or actions trigger an emotional reaction. Itโs been used in casual English since at least the mid-20th century. ๐ค Examples: - Stop teasing me โ youโre really pushinโ my buttons! ๐

@Jingwen Han In our region, the official (calendar) start of winter 2025 is on Sunday, December 21, 2025. According to the internet, it begins at 4:02 PM CET (strange that there's even a specific time for this ๐). The meteorological start of winter is already on December 1, 2025.

@Jingwen Han During the Christmas season, we don't eat any special dumplings, but we do eat far too much sweets (everything is covered in chocolate). Unfortunately, I do too. ๐

Dear @Alex Understated, a very nice post and great costumes. I'm going on a boat trip starting tomorrow (from Palma via Marseille, Tarragona, and back). It's a special carnival boat trip with many carnival celebrities from Cologne (โฃJeckliner โ Die Karnevals-Kreuzfahrt an Bord der Mein Schiffยฎ Flotte). Of course, we'll be wearing some costumes there, too. For example, I've brought along the following costumes: Roman, a captain, a hippie, a Hawaiian vacationer, etc. I'll be back in about a week and will definitely post a few photos.

Dear @Oleksii Silantiev, ah Duisburg, about 70 km away from me. I live in Pulheim (also in North Rhine-Westphalia). I haven't been very active in the community the last few days. I'm also on vacation for the next few days. A boat trip. But starting the week after next, I'll be back in the community more regularly. Best wishes ๐
