Greatings from the UK! (Wet, cold and very grey!)
Hello all, Im Phil, Stumbled across this group looking through Skool, ive struggled (well I say that) formal diagnosis 2 years ago at 51, answered a lot of questions, together with Dyslexia and Autism. Frustrated through life, never knowing, always rejected through education, but always the one people turn to when something is wrong or doesnt work. Been in computers in every possible way since 1983 and never looked back, its treated me well and along the way been a god send, without it, not sure where I would have ended up!!! Tried a few things in the passed, but my mind cant rely on others, keeping up with me, so ends up being a very lonely career. But I love what I do - so not all bad I guess. However, the magpie effect always takes grip and 'on to the next shiny thing!!!' - but now I know, if I dont finish what I started, there is the potential lives lost - which I could have done something about - so no Phil - sort yourself out, get focused, concentrate and get it done!!! Today, ive been lucky and hit on an idea of changing lives, working on my own, having the great story to tell and the sell. Using my gift (superpower) and my experience ive started again, but things feel different in a good way. My daugther got scammed but I didnt find out until it was too late, when it happened again - I was ready. The short version, I found something I could do that solved peoples problems, gave me the satisfaction of helping people, using all my skills and personality to take others on the journey, and instantly the UK Police took an interest, now I have something in 2 weeks (yes this is really that new) that much bigger than myself, but it wont hold me back, hyperfocus and 16 hours days is a norm, however, distraction is lerking everywhere, and thats causing my a lot of problems. I think I found me perpose in life, even late in that journey, but you're never to old to start again. Starting Again!!!, I was made redundant from AstraZeneca and treated very badly, all those involved in the Covid-19 works, were all wiped out, im the guy who built the AI platform, used to prove the trial for the vaccine delivery, but dump with many others - like a piece of rubbish and its taken a year to come to terms with it.

@Bill Widmer The way im made - pushes long hours, if I enjoy what im doing then im 'all in' family suffers, but when you are on a mission - you're on a mission. I have an inbuilt message queue in my mind, that continuiously updates, I have to plough through them, I track my time, basically. 9am Start my full time job, coding all day and washed meetings. 12pm - small break 1pm - back to work, probably havent left my desk! 3pm - break - go out for 30 mins 5:30 - finish work, close laptop Family time - food 7pm - Open project laptop 10pm - Break 10:15pm - back to it 2am - think about sleep 2-3am - Shower - bed. 8:30 wake up. REPEAT - Monday to Friday. Yes I track time - but dont manage my time well. been this way for 30 years.

@Zen Gabriel Ive always been the type of person open and happy to support others, even from a young, even when its detrimental to myself, i dont like seeing others at a disadvantage, especially when I can help or can do something about it. BUt something was missing, I think ive found it and thats supporting others through pro-active systems to reduce/irradicate the risk of being scammed online and other mediums. I built(building) the https://scamadvisory.co.uk, a complete FREE detection tool, its in its first iteration, but already solving problems, 21st day today of launch. So my place/purpose is to dedicate the rest of my career to this, creating awareness, education leading to, ive been in the industry for 30 years, time to give back. Victims lose 3 things Money/Valuables Diginity/Confidence In extreme cases - a loss of life. The last one drives me, from the teenage struggling with harrassment - to - Doris the 90 year old, being fleeced. Its a battle and all it takes is education/awareness.

How do I make sense of a late diagnosis of having ADHD?
I've asked Chat GPT, but I am very interested in what the community has to comment.

Late diagnosis, was a tough call me make, and upsetting to think that in our era, back then, through school, if only we knew, things might have been different, thats a bummer, young people have in most cases the support they need starting out. I beleive we all knew something was 'different' I never say 'wrong' , we are wired differently and i still beleive for a reason, and embrassing it makes us stronger, accepting the way you are work is a great thing. I see it as a positive, but I would say - only later in life can you really begin to appreciate it. This video on Linkedin - says is all.
