Western Wear Fragrance?
Curious, is there such a thing as a "Western Wear" fragrance? I would seem to think there are, even if it’s not an official category. 🤠 My initial thoughts are that “Western Wear” fragrance is more of a vibe than a label: rugged, warm, confident, and rooted in natural materials. Think leather saddles, sun-warmed woods, dusty trails, tobacco, suede, smoke, and a touch of sweetness—the olfactory equivalent of boots, denim, turquoise, and a well-worn belt buckle. These scents usually lean into: - Leather & suede (the backbone of the Western feel) - Woods like cedar, sandalwood, or vetiver - Tobacco, amber, or vanilla for warmth and approachability - Spices or resins that add grit without going “cowboy cosplay” A few fragrances that wear Western even if they don’t say so on the bottle. Some of the fragrances that I have, and I believe would fall into this category: - Memo – Italian Leather; refined saddle leather with swagger - Tom Ford – Ombre Leather: modern cowboy energy in a tailored jacket - Parfums de Marly – Herod: tobacco-vanilla confidence with frontier charm Bottom line: if it smells like it belongs with a bolo tie, turquoise, boots, and quiet confidence, it qualifies as Western Wear in my book. What are your thoughts, recommendations?

SOTE - Layton by Parfums de Marly
My wife is having a major birthday this week and the celebrations start tonight. Dinner with friends, nice restaurant, yada yada. Tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday the celebrations continue.😑 I gave her five fragrances to chose from for tonight and she picked Layton. Fine... Happy wife, happy life.😑 If there is ever a frag from a niche house that's a crowd-pleaser, Layton is it. I mean just LOOK at that rating on fragrantica from nearly 16,000 votes! It's nice... An absolute crowd-pleaser that DOES smell high-end. The blend of apple, citrus, florals, vanilla, and warm spices (like cardamom) is smooth, slightly sweet, and sophisticated. The dry-down has a nice blend of vanilla and cardamom spice, anchored by deep, smooth woods. It'll work tonight. 8.75 / 10.0

this is my first ever PDM but the Layton Exclusif ranks higher than this in my book.. this becomes too sweet over time.. I still love it though..
