There are at least 2 types of mistakes - 1 - Mistakes you think in your head, "I didn't mean to do that" 2 - Mistakes the audience thinks, "they didn't mean to do that." When you listen to your recordings, I want you to always be listening from these two perspectives! 1 - The audience! 2 - Your best flute teacher! When you listen as an audience I want you to start noticing those spots that sound like mistakes. You may notice that what you thought was a mistake at the moment turns out not to sound like a mistake in the recording! If that is the case, then you are probably getting good at the techniques we've been practicing in Improv Games to compensate when things don't go as planned! Do you hear anything that sounds like mistakes in my attached recordings? Name these tunes!

I am in DC helping my daughter and her family and had the opportunity to do some more exposure therapy on the mall of the Capitol with the Washington Monument in the background on one of the videos and the Capitol Building in the other video. My grandson was sweet to video it for me. I haven’t played for a week due to travel and being here, and I didn’t have time to warm up before I played. I appreciate Vic preparing me for moments like this in my lessons. I liked that I went into some hymns and I like that I did it with people walking by. It was fun. I would have improved in confidence and taking more time.
