Welcome to New Members!
Give these folks a great welcome and make them feel at home! This classroom is for anyone wanting to learn or write with AI help! Not Automations. We want to help you get the words out of your head and get your books published! Introduce yourself, share who you are, what you're working on, how we can help. @Kenny Funk @Joshua Eaves @Meghan Quinn @Carl Leonard @Valia Guzman This is also the support site for WordCrafter.Pro a very different (but familiar in ways) writing app with built-in Skill Rooms populated with Personas to help you work the details out and get writing. It's like walking into a writer's room for a television show and having several experts to talk out your ideas and help create your world, your characters, a story bible, outline and get the book written, edited, create additional merchandise and extras to go along with the book and the best part, a full marketing plan!

Welcome Everyone
Totally Tuesday!
So i've basically been ill for the last three days and pushing through it with a nasty sinus infection. I spent half of today resting and the other half adding what I think might be the best totally necessary two weeks ago feature. A freakin MANUAL. OMG. it's extensive and detailed and hidden quite cleverly at the top of the Binder. Please read the Preamble, to learn "Michael's Rule of Manuals". This technique is a decades old secret I have passed on to anyone who has ever tried to read a manual and ended up looking haggard with eyes glazed understanding less than when they started. The Quick Start is there if you think you know what you are doing and the rest is all there. I will be doing a line by line edit of it starting tomorrow as there are some things that are a bit off. Claude and the nonfiction room are good but nothing like a full read through by someone who actually uses it. This is actually version 9 since I started and will be the canonical master copy ongoing. There will eventually be a print addition, but probably not before I hire a better graphic designer than I am (not a very high bar to reach). Screenshots and graphics will be added as well. There are call outs for screenshots already in the text but please let me know if you think others should be added as well. I've already found a few and made hasty notes on my handy dandy Notepad also cleverly hidden in the Binder. If you hit a snag somewhere reading through you need me to address ask and I'll jump to that section and add the graphics needed there . I built this in the Binder so I can edit it live and work with it just like the live document it is. Please critique this, let me know if there is more (or less) that you need. I published it rough ths way because of some of the questions I have been asked recently. I should be able to add links here to videos elsewhere to explain things better as well, **** And if you have read this far I did make it into BIAM this month and will be running through it like everyone else, Just with WCP to see how well it works with Colm's method. I'll post here and on Storyhackers about it.

The first thing I look for with any app is the user manual. As I was born in the last century :-) I find them indispensable. The last app I encountered a few weeks ago, I asked for a user manual as there was very few tool tips popping up, and I got crickets. I'll be heading out soon for a few days away but I hope to squeeze in some time with this. In the meantime, be well Michael.
Monday, Monday
I really do not want to go to the daily grind today. Got too many fun things going for the folks here! Spent most of my time in WCP today ironing out details while working on the how to walk thrus. Notepad! The default edit pane is now a single page NOTEPAD. a place to jot random things. It is always accessible by the yellow notepad button in the upper left hand corner. It is about as simple as it gets. it's only option is a down arrow to save the contents to your local drive. It creates a WCP_Notepad file with the current date and time as a markdown (text) file. Select the contents and delete to clear it. It's just a single page and is share across every book and series with the same page. The default text on the notepad guide folks to the help in the corner and to our skool page here for additional help. Quick Start Button! Primarily for first timers but great for all of us. Opens an unnamed series, unnamed book, and unnamed file. If these already exist it will create new ones. you can rename them with the right click menu. It then jumps you to the API keys to enter a key and there is basic instrux there now. Then jump back and start writing The Feedback button may go away soon as the helpdesk link in the lower left corner [SOS] is now live so you can open a service ticket, that can be tracked and responded too, Remember the chatbot is there for help as well

Sunday Funday!
Taking the day off to take a short afternoon trip. I'll be posting more video steps tonight. In the meantime login to Wordcrafter.Pro and play with the brainstorm team to come up with a short story idea in your favorite genre. If you don't mind sharing post a quick couple of sentences about it. If you come up with something so good you want to run with it, keep it to yourself and let us know that as well. Welcome New folks! @Valia Guzman @Carl Leonard There are 62 members now and only 25 have tried out WordCrafter.Pro Click the link here and you get a 14 day free trial. If you 've been lurking and listening come try it out. I'll be around Sunday evening for at least a couple of hours and will have alive call open or just message me. Click the link and join in for help or just to say Hi! To Try this. (You only have to do this the first time you login) Go to WordCrafter.Pro Create a free account You will see the QuikStart Manual open, which you can download Next You will be given a quick tooltips tour of the interface Once You login click the "Quick Start" Button in the upper left hand corner This creates a New Series, New Book, and Unnamed file to work in You can change the names by Right Clicking on them later You will get a window asking for an api key. If you have one put it in the correct box and scroll down to save ai settings Click on the "WordCrafter.pro" link at the top to go back to your editing page. You have to click on a file in the binder at the left to do anything If you see something other than "Brainstorm" in the large rectangle at the upper right click on it and choose BrainStorm! Almost there..... In the lower right hand corner you will see "Message Brainstorm" Click here and imagine you just walked into a coffee shop and see a group of friends sitting at a table. Go over and tell them you want to talk about a story TYpe something in the box like "Hey guys! I need a story idea". and have a chat with them.

@Michael Culp Wondering if you used this one: OpenAI gpt-oss 120. It's what I used for Wednesday homework, and it's the one Gemini rated as the best of the free AIs. Woiuld you give your opinion about its usefulness if it isn't the one you tested here?

@Michael Culp Most excellent. As you said in a zoom Q&A, use a free AI for lower-level tasks and your best option paid AI for higher creative and writing tasks. (I think I paraphrased your statement accurately. If not, please correct me.)
IMPORT / EXPORT
Ive been working on importing files. We can now import Scrivener, novelcrafter, word, text, epub, pdf, and working on sudowrite and improving the raptorwrite import. Exporting pdf, epub, and word now let's you add a cover image from the gallery. Scrivener export works. If anyone decides to test these, let me know if you run into any issues. I exported ALL of my novelcrafter files and imported them all as a test (9 of them) into WCP. So if you started something elsewhere you can finish it in WCP. If you decide WordCrafter.Pro isn't for you there's multiple ways to exit. Back to recording trainings...

Sounds like no small effort. Really increases the usability of WCP. This is great.

Years in the corporate world writing scripts, manuals, PR, help desk info, etc. Now it's time for me to use that experience in other ways for myself.
