Share your Work Saturday!! or Frustration = Creation
Share your Work Saturday - Share anything you are working on writing or otherwise. I'll be offline most of the day playing Vendor at a craft show with my lovely and wonderful wife showing off her dried flower jewelry and art. One of her superpowers is to be abel to find 4 leaf clovers, over 80 in half an hour one day! My Share: Here I sit at 4 AM still adding new stuff. Got frustrated at a laser cutter earlier trying to make a display for a craft show we will be leaving to travel to in Indiana in three hours or so. 1) I added the missing link to the PWS system (not tested yet) a tool to schedule all of your social media posts, and email sends that the marketing team creates. The Marketing Team builds a 30 or 90 day campaign and creates images, text and a posting schedule for mostly of the US based social media outlets. We can add more as requested. This is built into the marketing skill and produces all the pieces and puts them in a spreadsheet for editing and review before pushing them out. and N8N workflow does the heavy lifting. There is a little more to it, but shoudl be easy enough for most to handle on their own and for those folks that need a little extra help...well..thats why this skool exists. 2) I also added an author website creation tool. I think this one got out of hand and might need to be scaled back a bit with testing. 3) A tool to analyze competitor campaigns, keywords and posts for marketing insights. This works, but to give even more data you need something like publisher rocket and ahrefs for all of the data 4) The most fun. The Book Reporter. This is an extra skill that will be free in the Premiere level That is run by "Conan the Book Barbarian" to tear apart a book or manuscript you throw at him to do a full forensic analysis of it. You can use this to create a similar story to a known story, but change the characters, scenes, timeline, location etc to make it your own. Great for taking a public domain story apart. Say a dark Cinderella in space? Just feed the report to the Story Development room and start discussing what you want to do with it. The other use is to analyze your own work seperatly from the methods the editorial studio uses. Their job is to help you revise to make your story better. The book reporter is more clinical and just analyzes what is there.

I threw one of my unpublished novels to Conan, because it has bothered me since I wrote it a year ago and Conan nailed it. I'm going to do just what I mentioned above, but in this case I'll have the writers room look at the book again with the book report file as guidance to find what needs fixing and rewrite those portions. Conan loved it until chapter 12 it slows down up until the payoff in chapter 21 and chapter 22 needs major changes. Conan didn't like the body count and how clinical it was in Chapter 22.
Homework April 11-12-2026
See what i did there? A DATED post. We can use this to look back on where we have been going forward. Homework time.. It's a Class so why not. Yesterday in a conversation with my wonderful and lovely wife @Amanda Curry Culp We were discussing as we often do "Rabbit Holes". I have a problem with falling down them, finding myself in not a hole but a warren and 200 tabs later Chrome starts complaining, and my brain starts melting. The randomness in my head threw out a phrase that I dropped on the /Story-Development-Room Skill and an hour later had one of the absolute best Fantasy/SciFi Story Bible I've yet come up with. It's going to be back burnered while I finish things here. Cue the Mission impossible music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGSUjuSBt1A "Your mission Mr. Phelps should you choose to accept it.." Come up with an interesting plot idea for a story, any genre and on Tuesday we'll vote for the best idea and I will schedule a live call with the winner to run their idea through the Story Development process and give them the story bible and outline created. This is eventually going to be a Premium level competition and of course if you are a VIP or have purchased the /Story-Development-Skill or the whole Suite you can do this yourself anytime. Post your idea here, can be a few sentences or a few paragraphs.

Feedback Friday!
Time for the class to tell me what they want to see. What are we missing? What do you want to see? What would help you push the needle forward? Suggest anything in the comments.

@Rose Colbourne I had to give faces to the names. I hope to eventually have the conversations with them show their avatars when they answer like a visual novel. Not quite there yet

Sample Covers - The Last MariGold
@Rose Colbourne made a comment in her skool group to me about not knowing how to get covers designed, so I thought I'd do a quick teaser. The two samples here came from the /Book-Merch Team in the PWS. These are what I call "cold" because there was no discussion, I just asked for two sample covers and copied the entire sample prompt from one of the Thursday Throwaways post this week with no constraints. I love how it will "fill in the blanks" if you do not give it enough information. I have asked the team for full dust jackets before and gotten fake reviews, an authors picture, name and bio on the back of the book. I do think Eleanor Hemlock would be a great pen name for a cosy mystery author though. The full text of what the /Book-Merch-Team replied is below. You do not have to read through it all but it is interesting. These samples were made with nano-banana in manus' canvas. I have been told Google Gemini works the same way and need to test this on the free tier to see if its the same. You can ask for styles, give sample images you like. It works best with discussion and will use the color pallette and ideas for an entire line of merch products you can order or DIY yourself. To edit you can use your favorite photo editor or just "talk" to the image. If I select the second cover image and say "change the author name to Michael Culp in the same font and color" it will do just that. I also need to re-iterate (constantly) a human artist is golden. Even if you choose to pay a human which i do highly encourage as they need to eat to. The Covers created here can be used as is or you can use them to show an artist what you want and let them know what changes you need. It's a good start. Again the formatting issue so I've attached a PDf file of the output below. Let me know if you have any issues access it https://drive.google.com/file/d/10emeUWdAsX4_hoogYEFFcWajYBHKnu-y/view?usp=sharing
