latest thing i've been working on for my club classics sets. I've followed the arrangement roughly from the original but with a simple intro & a switch up at the end into a more trancey lead out. The vocal is an ai removal so not squeaky clean but good enough for what i want. I used the main original stab from the track. I wasnt very sure on the hoover stabs origin, i had a few chats with @Owen Palmer about its possible source. In the end i went with the Dominator one, ran it through Quadrafuzz and layered it with my own lead from serum. I'd say as far as my usual pre mixdown arrangements go ,this is quite tidy compared to others and its where i left it and decided that it would be ready to start refining & mixing. I'm reading a book and came across this paragraph that resonates with me. "Forgive the repetition, but it's here for a reason. Im working on a DNB remix for a reggae track which is 98bpm (158bpm double time) turning it into 174 DNB track. What’s a preferred way for Time stretching the vocals? I’m using abletons complex pro. Which I think sounds ok. But I want to preserve the vocals the best way before I process with delays / reverbs etc to avoid artefacts. Ive tried slicing manually but it will need a lot of editing to preserve the rhythm of the vocal and there are harmony’s to edit as well. I’m thinking slicing is probably the best option, But long! If slicing, any tips for doing for the good results? I also have melodyne, but haven’t looked at that yet. Any thoughts much appreciated. :)

Hello guys. I need your opinion on how to distribute your time and efforts during the process of creating a track from scratch. I found myself in a methodological trap trying to mix during production and writing. I always do everything in parallel, however I'm in a doubt because it has some cons that I really feel. So I think if you try to mix or engineer the sound BEFORE you have completed the musical ideas you risk to spend much more time and even get very tired of the track you are working on. And I've got tired of a couple of latest tracks trying to make them sound as perfect as possible.
