Enjoying the journey or what is traditional archery. I see it as being better than the day before, even if I’m not. Such is the the road traveled. Good or off day it is always enjoyable to fling arrows. 🏹🦃

Buck down!
Cut my tag this year, this is my second buck. Last year I hot skunked so I'm pretty pumped that it didn't turn into a streak couldn't have done it without the help I've recieved. I used to really look down on social media, and in some ways I still do. I only got into it last year because instagram was the only way I could get a hold of the guy at czechmarkcreations to buy a quiver. But ive really come to see the value in being able to take part in these groups. I knew a couple people before that truck hunted with 270s but now thanks to social media I've been able to chat with knowledgeable bow hunters across the country, met up with some of them at 3d shoots and made some new friends. I have a network now that includes this group to help me learn, and let me share what I know. This buck was earned with help from Grant. Last month you let us ask questions, and I.took your answer to the field and worked it hard for the last month, and here is my reward. Thanks Grant! I couldn't be happier with this prize. Bear super kodiak for those wondering, pulling 53 lbs at 31inch. Magnus stinger 4 blade 125g with 75 grain insert. Clean pass through, double lung. I shot him at 13 meters and he went 55 meters. He was down in under two minutes.

🔥 UPDATE: We Are Full Steam Ahead With Our T-Shirts 🔥
Hey Folks! So as some of you are aware we recently had a hiccup with our distributer that impacted some of our t-shirts, a couple of folks got the same shirt multiple times, or the sizing was a little small. We recently sat down with our distributor and resolved the issue, funny enough it was a small technical issue with a SKU lol.... Grant and I out of our own pocket issued several refunds and still paid for these shirts BECAUSE it matters to us!...You guys matter to us! We are trying to create a brand, one that is built by a community of like minded people, who walk the path as traditional bowhunters. I am proud to say that we have ironed out what the issues were with our distributer and will be now operating at a more efficient level. With any new business there will be an evolution of operations, I can confidently say that we are good to go!!! We will be advertising these shirts to a larger audience in the near future, so it has been important for us to have all aspects of the business working smoothly. Soooo......for all those that sent me or Grant a DM or an email and provided feedback on our shirts, thank you!🙏 WE ARE NOW READY TO LAUNCH!!!.... *Please feel free to send me a message at @Jenn Richardson if you have any follow up questions or concerns! PS...I had to use a Blue Jays meme!!! lol...Just saying 🇨🇦

Your first deer?
My first deer- I was 16 years old, taken after two years of hunting hard, misses and mistakes made. Back then I hunted off the ground as I still do today almost exclusively. I would find a spot to sit and stay still for hours. Nothing fancy just find a good spot and sit with my recurve and wait. Share your first deer! 🦌 tell us a bit about the process and experience. Below is an excerpt from the end of Chapter 4 “Connecting to the Hunter” from my first book - The Code Of Traditional Archery talking about the end of that very evening. - It dawned on me that I should get my father to share this experience. It was close to dark when we returned together to the fallen buck. We sat for several minutes in silence. After saying a word of thanks and dressing the deer, we began the drag out of the woods. My father and I spoke few words that night on the drag out. I insisted on doing all the work while my father accompanied me through the tangled fortress of brush and trees surrounding the opening where I had killed the buck. After a three-kilometre slog, which seemed to take hours, we finally arrived at the fence line and loaded the buck into the back of his pickup. Catching my breath, I looked up at the shining stars. The wind had picked up a bit, and in the ambient light, I could see lines on my father's face that I hadn't noticed before. It was a moment of reflection that I will never forget. Something changed in me that day. After following him for years in the woods and waterways of my youth, something new had broken through; I was now walking beside, not behind, him. I had reached a new connection with my father to our ancestors. I now realize that in this connection of living and pursuing to hunt to live, I felt the resilience and self-reliance that has guided our species' survival over the time we have walked this earth.

My first deer with traditional equipment was this year, a recurve. It was a spot and stalk. I had a couple of opportunities earlier that were at a sharp up hill angle, clean misses. My harvest came at frontal shot on this doe at a downward angle. My buddy asked me what I remembered about the shot. It was interesting as I remember the stock, raising my bow, set my anchor… then seeing the arrow impact the doe. He mentioned that it often happens that way. I enjoyed the whole experience from the missed stocks to that shot I don’t fully remember (I do although recall the sensation of the shot) and then the recovery. Many feelings and emotions though out the experience. Nothing better than putting your hands on that animal at the end. I love to hunt in many ways. But that feeling of doing it w/ a trad bow… wow something that has to be done to understand. 🏹🦌
