How much can/should you share in a community?
In John B's group, @Gc Tsalamagkakis shares something interesting that I've been wondering about for some time myself: How much can or should you share in communities? For example, if you have a quick update, you may go to social media and share that. For those of up not on social media (at least, not in any meaningful way), where is that quick update place? I don't want to just share a quick one-liner update in my emails... But now that I have this community, I can come here and share updates. And honestly, that would be cool, and I want my members to share their quick wins and updates, too! What I don't want is people posting whatever that has nothing to do with their business or writing... it has happened in the past when I removed the user... but it feels icky to do so... Anyway... you are the members of this community and you get to choose what the community should look or behave like... what are your thoughts???

As an owner, posting quick updates around your products or an upcoming promo/jv or something similar is fine. But it has to be something exciting. Eg you're writing your field notes and just found a killer insight you hadn't realised before. You can screenshot it, post it and say "guys, this issue of field notes is gonna be lit fr fr no cap" Or you're preparing a new product and you are at a part that genuinely excites you, you can share that. You can't share something that's just "hey, something's cool coming soon... 👀" with no additional context. This doesn't do anything for anyone. Obviously, if you're a member you can't do the same because we're not here to hear about your teachings and products. So, in this case, the opposite is true. You can say stuff like "I've been working on a big thing for my list and it's finally almost doone!" and share your excitement with everyone else. (Though this can be weaponized and used as bait to ask me to promote my thing) So... Owner: be more specific Member: be more vague in product related stuff. Can be specific for stuff like a problem you might have or something you're confused about. The point is to avoid making it a promo field. It's not bad to talk about your business in general in a business related community Both: keep it within the theme of the community (hence why the post was on John's community since the theme is emails, especially daily ones)
"I don't know what to write"
A couple of days ago, I ran a poll where I asked about your biggest bottleneck. The bottleneck that got the most votes was this: "Not knowing what to write about." So, let's fix it, shall we? ===== 💡 How to come up with topics to write about: If you have an education business, each piece of your content should do two things: - teach (for building authority and trust) - and promote (for direct sales or product awareness) To do that, start with your offer. What are you selling? Let's say @Gc Tsalamagkakis (sorry dude, I'm gonna pick on you) is trying to sell his newsletter hitlists (this thing right here → https://tsalamazing.com/hitlists). I can think of at least 10 blog posts GC can write just for that (and then link to each other for SEO). For example: - 10 benefits of growing a newsletter using newsletter ads - How to vet a newsletter (or 5 red flags you shouldn't advertise on a newsletter) - 10 reasons newsletter ads trump social media ads - A head-to-head comparison between growing your audience with newsletter ads and social media ads - When is it better to use social media ads over newsletter ads (then sneakily promote the newsletter hitlists tool) I don't want to brag, but there's plenty more where this list came from. And to the people who complain about creating but not making money, I say this: Start with your offer! And if you do not have an offer, then that right there is your problem. Fix it first, and fix it quickly. Anyway. I just solved your "don't know what to write" problem. You're welcome. ===== Now, for good measure (and my own accountability), here's what I've planned for my own content game: ----- ❀ The Side Blogger The Side Blogger gets a heart because it is my primary channel and asset, and the platform that drives the most conversions. My content goals with TSB: - 1-3 posts per month focusing on a thing I sell (my own product or the membership). These posts are part teaching (for building authority) and part promoting (some will buy, others will at least join the list to learn more).

How dare you!
50 - 100 Subscribers?
Question: If I helped you, in a cohort setting, to get 50 - 100 brand new subscribers... in the next 1-3 months, would you be interested? Basically, I'll help you with your funnel setup (lead magnet, offers, distribution/discovery channels, all that). If you're interested, DM me or leave a comment here, and I'll reach out. Cheers ✌

@Maliha M RIP angry bird 💀 I was looking for an "I'm listening" GIF and it popped up (for some reason it's all over the meme space lately). But anyway, who would say no to 50-100 new quality subs?

What's stopping you from hitting your next income goal?
I'm hosting a Monetization Q&A call on May 20: https://luma.com/14cokvj1 But I want to hear your thoughts ahead of the call. What's keeping you from hitting your next income goal? For me, I know what I need to do, but I'm just not doing it. Why? Who tf knows... maybe it's procrastination, or adhd, or any of life's mysterious afflictions. I wanna know what's stopping you, so I have time to think about them ahead of the call. Is it that you're not sure what you should be doing? Trouble making offers? Not knowing what your audience wants? Are you chronically depressed? Anything else? Lemme know! (The Monetization Q&A call is free to Vault members, FYI.)

@Maliha M Yup, that's the plan. But some thing get worse when you add shortcuts and these are the kind of things I'm handling right now. Hopefully will be zooming after the speed bump
