Hi! Held super accountable by Rex's post yesterday to name one thing I would get done...and that was outreach to another Austin Company I felt called to- Women in Tech! Hoping to hear back regarding a collab/wellness. Also, I had a meeting with the last company I did cold outreach to in this challenge and it went really well:)

Goal: Create content for my journalism songwriting project. ✨ I went to Pease Park this evening with two songwriting friends to co-interview people and co-write a song together. I didn't try to film the process because I wanted a pressure-free space. Collaborating with other creatives gave the project a new energy. It was more fun, too. I also think I spotted @Bill Widmer from afar. 👀 ⏩ Next Step: Schedule our next co-write session to finish the song + wrap up my other songs video edits from this project.

Wins, struggles, lessons?] We only had 1,974 activities today... and yet we JUST KEEP CLIMBING!! Great work, everyone! Started the day off with a little adult recess fun! Got to see @Allison Frueh @Pete Geissler @Amber Williams @Chris Wolfe and @Anna Tingen! We played crazy dodgeball and water balloon tower defense. Also want to give a big shout out to @Sam Rathling for getting her community ⭐ today!!! Congrats Sam, you deserve it!! So happy for you! We also had @Kat Oakley blast on to the 7-day leaderboard, and @Rebecca Pay hit the top 3!!! But @Xavier Todd and @Reema Rana are right on her tail. It's anyone's game still; with 3 days left, one big push could put you at the top! Don't give up now! How many points do you guys have? Drop a comment so I can see who's close to hitting top 10! Goal: Create content for my journalism songwriting project. ✨ Today’s Reflection: I sat down to write a song for this project, but I wrote a song for my other children's music project instead. 😅 I really like the song though, so I'm counting it as a win. I did brainstorm new question prompt ideas for the journalism project that I will test out tomorrow if I have time. ⏩ Next Step: Collect interviews, designate a specific time to write for this project. Even 30 minutes.

Goal: Create content for my journalism songwriting project. ✨ Last week I played a song from this project at the Cactus Cafe open mic and got positive feedback from other songwriters who also want to participate. I scheduled a day to go out and interview / write with songwriter friends and started brainstorming an in-person song swap event. I also finished a song and wrote two new songs based on stories from kids! I did that on-the-spot while they listened and it was really fun. I've also shifted my focus this week to launching a campfire concert + barn dance night in October, which will support another one of my projects as a musician and event organizer. I am finding (as I often do) that I make less progress with a divided focus. I am excited to wrap the journalism songwriting project this week and reflect on my different paths forward -- continuing, shifting to in-person events, tailoring to the family market. ⏩ Next Step: Gauge interest for in-person events at songwriter open mic tomorrow. Aim for one-to-two more songs interviewed, written, and recorded this week. Sketch out in more detail my different paths forward at the end of the week.
