This morning when I was warming up for my lesson with @Goddess Diana I made this short improvisation with just a "C" in the left hand bass note and just one note at a time in the right hand, all in C major, no chord change. I started with a simple rhythm in the bass at first... and I'd make a "call" in the right hand melody and leave time for a "response" - want to try playing a response to my call? Then I dropped the rhythm in the bass and just let it ring, for more of a cadenza-like feel. Want to try that with me?

How do you feel most days when you practice? Today felt pretty good! I played with Bb drone and F drone and played long tones and It Is Well in all the flat keys. I really loved practicing today and wish it could have been longer. Here is a recording of the improv with the F drone. I liked the tone and the variety of slow and rhythmic notes. For improvement, I would try to not crack a couple of the notes and more dynamics.

I practiced yesterday, but forgot to post it. Today, I played It is Well in all 12 keys. It was far from perfect, but I will keep at it. I went outside and played It Is Well a few times, because I find it helpful to play in different environments, although it was quite hot and humid and I was slightly worried about the pads on my flute, so I didn't stay out long I also played long tones and really thought about tone colors. I was purposely trying to play a bad sound and then a good sound and everything in between. I find it freeing to play all sorts of tone colors, that way I don't feel like I have to only achieve one tone color. I also played along with some Rumba Drum Metronome Loop while I played It Is Well, that Vic had me play with in our last lesson. I was on the phone and put on hold for quite a while and had my phone on speaker while I waited and realized, hey I can improv with this hold music. Haha might as well have some fun if I have to hold:)

This was fun! As I am learning It is Well in all the keys, playing with it a different beat was challenging and fun! I liked the overall picture, but think I could have added more dynamics.
