Migrating Scott's Posts
I am finished migrating all of Scott's posts and I not only moved them over, I read most of them. I had a great time reading these since a lot of them were before I came into the awesome group.

How Did We Get Here (Post from Scott)
Most of us were members of a thriving community which unfortunately is shutting down. As a result, it was desirable to create a new venue for gentlemen and ladies to continue to communicate in a civil, polite, and courteous setting. Thus, The Society of Ordinary Gentlemen came to be. A simple YouTube channel, run by an ex-pat Englishman, brought us together. Without him, none of us would have met. As a gentleman, I believe it is important to share our knowledge and our sources with aspiring gentlemen. I am going to list a few I am familiar with. Gentleman's Gazette - YouTube SARTORIAL TALKS - YouTube Real Men Real Style - YouTube Courtney Ryan - YouTube The Style O.G. - YouTube and of course, Gent Z - YouTube There are many great resources for the aspiring gentleman to draw from, so please share your favorites.

Cooking Tip for Pasta- Al Voss (Post from Scott)
Cooking Tip Sometimes cooking pasta seems daunting because of the cooking time. An easy solution: put your store bought pasta ( dry pasta, not fresh) in a baking or casserole dish. Cover pasta with warm water. Return 30 minutes later and drain the water. The pasta will then only need 2 to 5 minutes to cook. An added benefit, this method will reduce the carb count of the pasta. Also, the amount of water needed to cook the pasta will be reduced. With that in mind, substitute broth for the cooking water. The pasta will be more flavorful and nutritious. I haven't cooked pasta in water for 30 years. The traditions of Koo King and Chow Fo Mee live on!

Cooking Tip for Lasagna- Al Voss (Post from Scott)
Cooking Tip From the traditions of Koo King and Chow Fo Mee! When cooking lasagne do not cook the noodles 1st. Build the lasagna as you would normally do but with uncooked noodles. Add 50% more sauce. Check for enough sauce while cooking after the 1st 30 minutes and each 20 thereafter. The noodles will absorb the sauce and its flavor. Keys to great lasagns; Use 3 cheezes ( mozzarella, ricotta and guyere. Use 3 meats, beef, lamb and pork or turkey or bison. Or remove the casing from sausage, ground it up and add to layers. Increase all spices by at least 25%. Cover tightly while cooking at 350f. Usually, the cooking time is 1 hour, but this will depend upon how many layers, traditional Italian is 1 but Americans usually do 2 to 4 layers. Also, whether the ingredients are cold or room temperature.

Cooking Linguini- Al Voss (Post from Scott)
Cooking. It Worked! I experimented last night and I enjoyed the result. I brought 4 jars (1.5lb each) commercial spaghetti sauce to a simmer. I used Rao. In the meantime I soaked 1lb dry linguini in warm water for 30 minutes. I added the now wet linguini to the pot with the sauce. Approximately 20 minutes later I had a lovely spaghetti dinner. The cooking time may vary. On the electric cooktop I'm not sure of the actual temp. Check for doneness. Al dente is what I prefer. The noodles have texture and not baby food soft. Try it, you'll thank you!
