Cooking Tip for Pasta- Al Voss (Post from Scott)
Cooking Tip
Sometimes cooking pasta seems daunting because of the cooking time.
An easy solution: put your store bought pasta ( dry pasta, not fresh) in a baking or casserole dish.
Cover pasta with warm water.
Return 30 minutes later and drain the water.
The pasta will then only need 2 to 5 minutes to cook.
An added benefit, this method will reduce the carb count of the pasta.
Also, the amount of water needed to cook the pasta will be reduced.
With that in mind, substitute broth for the cooking water. The pasta will be more flavorful and nutritious.
I haven't cooked pasta in water for 30 years.
