Sydney MOA: Nov 1st Meetup / IG Grid PhotoShoot!
All right, folks! Two fortnightly get togethers in a row so far; let's keep the momentum going (though I believe we're losing @Anthony Kenyon-Slade as he's migrating to Melbourne for the Summer)! Same schedule as last time: 12:30PM meet-up, but this time at The Darling at the Star: - lunch, chat and world domination planning (plus the odd candid photo) - then a stroll around the Darling Harbour area around the 3PM-6PM window for good afternoon light for lifestyle photos inc. the Cockle Bay Wharf Marina (get your shorts and boat shoes out, lads) and the W/IMAX. Go through your favourite IG profiles and pick some shots out that you want to copy, then bring your camera/phone and enough clothes to give you a few different looks! So, pinging @A M, @Felipe Grez, @Jordan Taylor, @Shane Franco, @John Cena and @Trevor Low - with a know-it's-a-bad-time-but-making-sure-you're-invited to @Nicholas Xenophondos (will have to see if we can get together with you on a weekday evening soon) - and a just-in-case-you're nearby to out-of-towners @Nick Cownie, @Craig Langlands and @Mick Byrne). - If you're in Sydney and not listed above, you're welcome too; just comment so we know you're interested and coming along!

@Rob Farquhar would have loved to but I’ll be down the South Coast this weekend in Narooma.

@Rob Farquhar yeah I travel a bit for work! I was in Byron bay for the weekend too a couple of weeks ago. These days I am based in Port Macquarie and head down to Sydney every week or two for work for a couple of days, so it’s hard to say.
Oct 4th: Sydney MOAs Meet to Fix Instagram!
While I'm fairly new here, I'm keen to take some action on my Insta profile, and I'd like to work with my fellow Sydney MOAs to get results more quickly! Let's meet at 12:30PM at the Circular Quay Ferry terminal, then chat over some lunch at City Extra before heading out to some Insta-worthy locations nearby (the Rocks, Observatory Hill, Barangaroo, even the Botanic Gardens) and getting some photos taken before the sun sets. Ideally, we'll be taking not only lifestyle/scenic photos (especially if we can find any parked supercars or know anyone who'll let us lean on / get into / out of any) but also candid "co-work / planning world domination" shots. Bring: - Your smartphone or camera (plus any peripherals, but ideally we'll be each other's cameramen - A basic change or two of clothes, whatever you can pack and carry without creasing - A laptop and/or any other props you want While any ladies you know who'd willing/keen to be part of pre-selection photos would be great to have along, I suspect that needs to occur a touch more organically - I'm expecting the shoot will be more "mogul" for now. So, what do you think: @Anthony Kenyon-Slade @Jordan Taylor @Jibitesh Saha @John Cena @Francis Garde @Trevor Low (though from the looks of your Insta grid, we'll be picking your brain for help, you classy gent!) And any other Sydneysiders that my group search for "Sydney" didn't uncover!

New from Australia
Hey guys. I'm Craig, I'm 38, I live on south coast in NSW in Australia. Newly divorced father starting again. Going through the divorce i realised that most of the people i was associated with were taking value away rather then adding. Looking to network and meet with like minded guys to develop and expand knowledge and experience. Been out of the market for a long time since before social media (2010). It's been an interesting learning experience so far especially seeing how not having social media can impact things.

Some great info already provided here, I would add to that to up your step count to 15-20K daily! As a bonus, maybe add a whole body work out like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or MMA in twice a week and the weight will fall off!
Billions of data points, Big data reveals relationship secrets. Here's top 10:
I read 'Don't trust your gut', it's written by a former Google data scientist who ran studies with Big data, machine learning to understand the 'truth' behind relationships. He used millions of data points from Google searches, OkCupid, Match.com, Tinder swipes, and long-term marriage studies. Here’s what they did: 1- They tracked who swipes right, who messages back, who actually goes on dates. 2- Analyzed anonymous Google search data , which is where people tell the truth when they won’t tell their friends. 3- They matched this with long-term surveys of married couples , who stayed happy, who divorced, and why. Data showed , almost everything people think matters in dating doesn’t actually predict whether you’ll be happy later. Here's the top 10 insights via data: 1. Emotional stability is the best predictor of long term success. 2. The people who feel an instant “spark” often burn out fast. Couples who start slow, build up, and actually like each other as people stick together longer. 3. Height is the dumbest filter. Tons of women filter for “6 feet and up” but data shows it makes zero difference to long-term happiness. 4. Attractiveness of women is overrated. Beautiful people do get more swipes, but they don’t stay together more than average-looking people who treat each other well. 5. Drama is the poison for long term love. 6. Opposites rarely last. The strongest couples have shared habits, life goals, and values matter way more than some fake “opposites attract” fantasy. 7. The idea of ‘settling’ is flawed. Data shows that satisficers, people happy with ‘good enough’ are more satisfied than maximizers (who always think there's someone better out there) 8. The more rigid your checklist, the more likely you’re single forever. The people who are happiest didn’t find a perfect fit, they found someone good enough and built a good life. 9. Marrying very early, large difference in education & religion skyrockets chances of divorce. 10. Similar levels of conscientiousness predict a durable marriage, this was big!
