Just wrapped up an excellent call with @KLee Terrazas over in our PPC Copilot group, who's doing incredible work with personal injury law firms! She shared a perfect case study of fixing a "poison" account with bad data and navigating the tricky transition to quality-focused campaigns. 🧩 The Challenge: Kaylee took over an account in January that was previously running on broad match with 800-1200 calls per month... but 90% were irrelevant! Despite "good-looking" metrics, the quality was abysmal. 💰 The Results: After restructuring the campaigns: - Call volume intentionally dropped from 800 → 150 monthly - Qualified leads increased dramatically - Sign-ups jumped from 4 cases in January to 10 cases in March! Key Action Items & Takeaways: 1️⃣ Budget Reallocation Strategy - Spanish campaigns were significantly outperforming English campaigns in ROI - Recommended gradually shifting budget from English to Spanish campaigns: Start by moving 50% of budget from underperforming English ($391 → $100) Monitor for 3-5 days before shifting remaining budget Split budget between two Spanish campaigns (DFW & El Paso) with 60/40 or 70/30 distribution 2️⃣ Experiment Testing Best Practices - Reviewed when to use Google's experiment feature vs. simple A/B testing - For landing page tests: Duplicate existing ads with different final URLs - For major campaign changes: Use formal experiments with 50/50 traffic split - Recommended cookie-based testing for faster statistical significance 3️⃣ Ad Copy Pinning Guidelines - Generally avoid pinning RSA headlines/descriptions - Exception: When running time-sensitive promotions that need prominent placement - Avoid "fluff" headlines just to fill all 15 slots (quality > quantity) 4️⃣ Client Communication Excellence - Create detailed tracking spreadsheets with qualification data - Implement intake form changes to capture lead quality metrics - Conduct weekly review calls with clients - Set proper expectations before making major account changes

Google Ads Conversions are WAY off
I have never seen this one before. The conversion tracking is WAY off in this account! It is saying 300+ conversions on 222 clicks (how is that even possible) - we have backend tracking setup on it and see 108 calls/lead forms have come through in this 7-day time. I tried Google Ads Tech Support they said it needs to be elevated to a certain team and they cannot get to me until Feb 5th 😮‍💨🤯 that would mean $5K+ spent in the account between now and then. Does anyone in the group have any idea what is going on or how to fix it? Or have anyone on Fiverr that is good with conversion tracking issues they recommend? Or know a Google Tech Support number that is not in India that will take 6 days to get the appointment with?!?!

@Enoch B Set to count as 1 conversion. The snippet is only on the Thank you page (we have bee running for 5 months and it just started doing this this week). Look at the conversion percentages (its in the very last column you'd have to open on the photo attached to see) but they are like 175% increase 125% increase etc that also is crazy 16% has been our average conversion percentage since launching the account. I don't see many that would decide to close later it is in the legal niche and most need help right away or move on to the next lawyer.

@Patrick Mckenna Hey thank you I appreciate that. After spending hours with Googles advanced support on this it was still not working properly so I hired a guy that was referred to me on UpWork and everything seems to be fixed. No idea how it was firing off 567 form fills off of 5 forms and 600+ calls off of 121 (everything was working properly for 5 months then it was more than 4x counting conversions) he just deleted all the conversions and created news ones since whatever Google tried did not work.

Does anyone know how to show the cost per conversion on each asset group? I am not seeing the option to add cost per conversion on the column.

Cost per conversion is in the columns section under conversions you can select whatever conversion data you want reflected

What do you guys do to optimize accounts to get to that 30 conversion in 30 days goal?

there are optimizations but also depends on the ads budget and the target area/niche. In large cities with a healthy budget in say the plumbing niche 30 in 30 piece of cake but with a smaller budget in a less "in-demand" niche could take longer - there are a lot of variables to be able to answer that question properly.
