My new(ish) camera...
Hi all. So I finally have a camera, which I have borrowed from a friend that no longer uses it. A Nikon D3000. I know that it's old but from talking with other photographers, it just fine for learning while I figure out what I really want to buy for myself. So as a complete newbie and just learnt how to turn it on, where do I start. Assingment 1? 📷 J

I truly believe it’s more about the person behind the lens than the camera itself! I use a Nikon D3200, which is very similar to yours. My best advice is to start by learning Manual Mode. From there, experiment with both intentional and spontaneous shooting. The intentional side would be following the current assignments—you don't need to go back to the first one, just jump right in! The spontaneous side is just pointing, shooting, and seeing what happens. Enjoy the process!

@Attila Reviczky-Balogh it's a pretty cool camera specially at its price, it has taught me a lot and the most important thing it taught me was shooting with manual focus, I still can't afford to upgrade it tho but i'm hoping to upgrade to the a7 series one day
My take on Assignment #11
I couldn't participate in assignment 11 at the time but i went out today and shot only in horizontal and these are 2.35x1 and 16x9 crop. waiting for your feedback & Which photo do you like? (I like photos 3, 6, 8, 9)

@Emanuel Schi I just realized that this website doesn't compress the photos
🌍 We are officially on every continent.
I just checked the map and had a proper mind-blown moment. 🤯 From North & South America, across Europe and Africa, all the way to Asia and Australia - 81 photographers, all in one place, all shooting with intention. (I am not counting Antarctica. If anyone knows a penguin with a camera, please send them our way. 🐧) It is incredibly humbling to see photographers from all over the world coming together to master The Art of Seeing. What makes this so special to me: we all look at the same world, but we capture it through completely different cultural lenses, backgrounds, and perspectives. Having this worldwide exchange of ideas is just invaluable. Thank you for being here! Now let's keep growing. 📸

Here is your new Color Cheat Sheet!
It's almost 3AM and I'm not sure if I'm still sane 😅 I've been working on this Color Guide for the last 8 hours straight — and I think it's finally done. It's called **The Complete Color Guide** and it covers: → Color Emotions — how each color feels and how to use it intentionally → 10 Color Harmonies — with diagrams and color samples → A Quick Reference sheet you can print and keep next to your monitor This is something I genuinely wish I had when I started shooting. Color is one of those things nobody really teaches you — you just kind of figure it out over years. This guide is my attempt to shortcut that. Download it below.📥 And if you have 2 minutes: I'd love your honest feedback. Does it make sense? Is anything unclear? Would you actually use it?
