Parenting Community Successes
Thanks @Paul Sirvinskas for letting me know that the new DISCOVERY rankings are helping with our key words. So, from our community we have three communities that have popped up in the top 10. Congrats to: @Tim Tindle and his group Parenting Support Skool @Andrew Nelson and this community Parenting and Teaching children and @Rozalind Murray with her community Parenting through the storm. Who else has risen to the top of the rankings for one of their communty's key words? @Chris Suckling ? @Tina Saxena ? @Jon Cooke ? @Steven Bornstein @Paul Sirvinskas @Audrius Stankus @Renee Jeffery ?????

Its very exciting watching these communities grow 🎉
Good luck this week.....
What is something you are doing this week that will need a little bit of luck or extra wisdom or discipline? For me, I am designing my Journey Mastermind Program and it will take some disicipline to make it move forward.

I am also finishing off a 12 week strategy plan for my community but I enjoy spending tine on that. What I really should be doing is my Diploma studies for work as I have a deadline coming up but my heart just isn't in it so my head keeps telling me to do something I enjoy- like creating stuff !!! So ill probably spend this weekend catching up on 2 weeks of Diploma work haha 😄
Marcus Aurelius Inspiration
A little inspiration from Marcus Aurelius (The actual emporer of Rome in the Gladiator movie) “When you need encouragement, think of the qualities the people around you have: this one’s energy, that one’s modesty, another’s generosity, and so on. Nothing is as encouraging as when virtues are visibly embodied in the people around us, when we’re practically showered with them. It’s good to keep this in mind. Quote borrowed from Ryan Holiday's daily email. How do you get inspiration from those around you?

By seeing the best in people. By feeling encouraged to have their strengths or By seeing others weaknesses and seeing them in myself and then wanting to improve myself to be better.
You can't motivate someone else, can you?
Motivation is an interesting one. We can quote Ghandi, Aristotle, Marcus Aurelius, Mother Theresa, Churchill, Nightingale (Florence and Earl) etc. Motivation doesn't come from without, it comes from within. It is deciding what your top value is right now and aligning your behaviours with that value (or two). What are your number 1 or 2 values and what behaviours are you aligning with them? How else do you motivate from within?

I lack motivation to get up and do the things i want to or know i should be doing (like my study work) but I realise that action creates motivation. If I just start doing the thing I need motivation for, the motivation follows the action. Like sitting down at the computer and opening the laptop, this action sparks motivation to get some work done. Grabbing a box and emptying it on the kitchen table to sort through- i had 4 boxes i hadn't unpacked yet and it wasnt stuff that needed unpacking so much as sorting and reducing. Once I emptied a box on the bench, it motivated me to do all 4 of them. Persistence and consistent behaviours no matter how small can spark motivation to do the bigger things i need to do.
List of Values - A mind exercise
I have a long but incomplete list of values in a word document, however, I want us to share those that come to mind, whether they are your priority or not, so we begin to dig through our minds and massage our minds a little. I will start with a list of ten and then you can add to them. Kindness Congruency Authenticity Naturalness Honesty (with self first) Discipline (including boundaries with ourselves and boundaries with others so they don't walk over us) Trustworthyness Productivity Courage Selflessness

I've lived the storm of parenting with a mental illness. I help parents regulate their nervous system and break cycles of guilt, shame, and overwhelm.
