I have always shot recurve bows except for 10-12 years I used a compound bows. I seriously never really enjoyed it but gave my compound to a 15 year old and haven't stopped shooting traditional. I wanted to see how close I can harvest game at not how far I can shoot I shot longbows for three to four years but just prefer a recurve. My preference is Douglas Fir shafts
