Why Your Muscles, Mind, and Energy All Depend on THIS
Protein is king. And I’m not talking “bro-science” big arms and shredded abs. I’m talking survival. Protein is the building block of everything you are. Your hair, nails, skin, eyes, enzymes, collagen, even your immune system—none of it exists without protein. Here’s the kicker: your body can only store about 10 grams of amino acids. That means if you’re not eating enough protein daily, you’re setting yourself up for breakdown, fatigue, and weakness. 👉 Complete proteins (meat, eggs, dairy) give you all 9 essential amino acids. 👉 Incomplete proteins (many plant sources) need to be combined—like beans + rice—to deliver the full package. So how much do you actually need? - To survive: 0.8g per kilogram of body weight. - To grow stronger: 1.1–1.7g per kilogram. - Pushing your limits: up to 3g per kilogram. - Don’t just watch the scale. Pay attention to strength, energy, and how your clothes fit. Protein is the lever that changes the game. If you want results, make protein king of your plate. The excuse that isn't one.
The biggest excuse I hear from middle-aged adults? “I’ve got a gut, I’m out of shape, everything hurts… because I’m old.” Let’s be real—most of you weren’t in combat, you didn’t play pro ball, you weren’t a black belt getting slammed on mats for decades. You just stopped taking care of yourself and slapped the word old on it. But let’s unpack this. If you feel like trash at 40, what do you think 50’s gonna feel like? What do you think 60’s gonna feel like? What about 70, when your body is broken, your strength is gone, and you need help just to get off the damn toilet? That isn’t aging. That’s neglect. That’s years of no training. That’s years of garbage food, booze, and vaping. That’s laziness wrapped in an excuse. The truth? Hell on earth is being trapped in your own body, knowing full well you could’ve prevented it. You’re not fat because you’re old.You’re fat because you’ve made poor decisions—day after day after day.
