Here's what my script looks like. There'll still be some tweaking to do, but it's coming along. The next thing I have to do is build a shot list. The list of things that I'll need to do in game for the points to have something to go along with them. For you you might want to think of graphics that would best support your main point, or memes.
INTRO
I've been playing a lot of Pokopia lately, and I keep running into the same problem.
The game has a really strong foundation, but there are a bunch of small things that start to add up. Stuff that slows you down, stuff that feels unfinished, or stuff that just doesn't make sense once you notice it.
And the frustrating part is most of these wouldn't take much to fix.
So I want to go through the updates I think Pokopia actually needs. The ones that would improve the game right away if they were added or changed.
I've got a few big ones, so let's start with the most obvious one first.
THE WATER UPDATE
Okay so the water levels in Pokopia are genuinely strange and I don't fully understand why they're so hard to deal with. Like the fix seems so obvious. Just give us a mechanic that lets us reset them. Or better yet, give that job to Kyogre. That's literally what Kyogre does. That's their whole thing. Let them do their job.
But the water update shouldn't stop there because I have a bone to pick with drowning.
I am going to build underwater. That's just a fact. I've accepted it, the game should accept it too. Let me work underwater without drowning every ten seconds. It's unnecessarily hard for no real reason. And if that's too much to ask right now, at the very least let Lapras interact with the blocks down there. Give Lapras something to do. There's no reason that should be off the table.
THE STORAGE UPDATE
If you've played Pokopia long enough you already know exactly what I'm about to say.
Storage is a problem. A real one. You run out of space, you run out of chests, you start making decisions you shouldn't have to make about what to keep and what to throw away. It's a lot.
The solution has existed btw. It's been in Pokemon games basically forever. It's the PC. The PC storage system. Just let us have that for items. An online storage system for everything. That's it. That's the ask.
And if that's somehow too big of a lift right now, okay, fine. At least let me interact with storage as Magnemite. That feels like something I should've already been able to do. And while we're at it, remove the cap on certain items. The chest limit especially. There's no good reason that cap exists and at a certain point in the game it just becomes a roadblock. (when youre 300 or so hours in y'know)
THE ELEMENT UPDATE
This one I'm splitting into two because it fits, and its my video so. y'know deal with it.
Ice first. We got robbed. I don't know how else to say it. There are barely any ice pokemon in this game and there's not even a proper ice biome. Like I want a winter wonderland. I want to go somewhere and it actually feel cold and icy and like a real ice environment. Right now that just doesn't exist and it should.
Now fire.
I have Leafage. I have Watergun. I can dig. So why can I not set things on fire. That should be a thing. Let me spit fire. Let me light things. It fits the game, it fits the vibe, it makes sense with everything else we can already do. Just let it happen. Let me light a campfire without needing to grab charizard from his chores.
And while I'm already on this; if I'm in Magnemite form I should be able to generate electricity. That's not even a stretch. That's just Magnemite doing Magnemite things.
THE RELIC UPDATE
Let. Me. Appraise. All. Items. At. Once.
I should not have to sit there and appraise things one at a time when I've been collecting for a while. There is no reason for this. It wastes time and once you're deep into the game and collecting en masse it becomes genuinely tedious. Make it a late game unlock if you want, that's fine, but it should exist.
And while we're talking relics, let me turn in multiple feathers at once. Or better yet, give me a menu of potential items I can select from if I have the feather requirements. Stop hiding rewards behind RNG when I've already done the work to earn them. It's unnecessary friction.
Last thing on relics: CDs. CDs are relics. So let me store them somewhere that makes sense. A CD rack. Something. And let Rotom hold more than five. Five is not enough. Also I should be able to use Rotom to change the game music from wherever I am instead of having to track down that one specific spot where Rotom happens to be. Let Rotom be a real music system. That's such a cool feature that's just slightly underutilized right now
THE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
I can place nine blocks at a time. So I should be able to destroy nine blocks at a time. Not just replace them, actually destroy them. Or replace them with nothing. Right now it's an annoying limitation.
Paint should also not be locked behind Smearguru. I love Smearguru but I shouldn't have to go back every single time I want to paint something. Let Smearguru give you an item or a power that lets you paint on your own.
And please, please, let me lock items in place. I have destroyed entire sections of houses because I accidentally picked up a fence post. This has happened more than once. It should not keep happening. Just let me lock things down.
THE GATHERING UPDATE
Last one and this one's more of a quality of life thing but it would change a lot.
Give us a pokemon that follows us around and picks things up. Not at the same rate we could, I'm not asking for a miracle, but just a companion that handles cleanup while we're focused on other things. And give it settings. Like a "gems only" mode. So when I'm on a deep mining run with Graveler just going absolutely feral on everything, I'm not missing gems because I was too focused to notice them on the ground. A little pokemon assistant just quietly collecting the important stuff in the background. That would be huge.
OUTRO
And that's really it. Six updates. None of them feel impossible. Most of them honestly feel like they're already halfway there. The bones are good in Pokopia, it just needs a little more love in these specific spots.
If any of these resonated with you drop it in the comments, I'm curious which one people want the most. And if I missed something obvious let me know because I'm sure there's stuff I didn't think of.
> I'll probably add some fluff here and there, or a meme or two, but that's the script. Hopefully it does well!
