A Line in the Sand
I have been editing and re-editing my late fiancée's biography off and on for the past 14 years. I'm getting the line edit back on Saturday. August 27, 2026 would have been her 75th birthday, so I am going to publish the book on that day. Happy birthday, Arlinda!
A Line in the Sand
Arlinda's would-have-been 75th birthday is August 27. I think I'll give her a present, the biography I promised her I would write. That gives me only four months to get the copy edit, release forms, copyrights, and platform ready for pub day. I have all of the professionals lined up to help me deliver it.

AI-Generated Report
Ugh. A "professional beta reader" just finished "reading" my manuscript. The report from them is obviously generated by AI. The repeated use of "profound", "unforgettable", and "luminous" throughout the report, and the phrasing of the sentences have AI fingerprints all over it. And then there is a Matrix-type glitch in the reporting that a human would catch (four chapter groupings had the same copy/paste review). I'm trying not to feel cheated, as it did fact-check and correct a couple of oversights. How do I respond to this "beta-reader" and protect myself from future disappointment?
