Sharing your drafts
When it comes to sharing your first draft with people, it can help you get much needed eyes on your project, get some validation for the unseen work youve put in, and get some valuable feedback as to what will help bring it into its best version. In this group I recommend sharing with specific people and asking for specific feedback, rather than posting openly in the group and asking for any feedback. Think about where your work is missing. Do your story telling skills need some work, is the plot missing something, are you need to develop your dialogue better etc. Think about the feedback you want and ask for it from someone in the group. It makes it easier for the reader to look for things to report on.

On Self Promotion
One of the rules that Skool suggests when making a community is "No Self Promotion". I removed that Rule, despite understanding its importance. Many skool communities are a place to connect around a subject, learn from each other, get supported. People coming in and promoting their business, their community, their services etc, gets messy and takes away from what skool is. It makes it just like every other social media platform. However I didn't want to create confusion, as you will be sharing about your projects and hopefully meeting people interested in reading your work. I think promoting your work here, especially as the community grows to the tens or hundreds of members, will actually support everyone. Seeing you or other members publish your book after months of being active here will be a source of inspiration. The more active you are, the more people will be invested in your work, and the more they will want to read it. The best practice here is to reveal your process, share your ideas, your goals, your vision, and get us all invested in your success so when you reach the point of publication, you already have fans.
