The Night Shift Nobody Wanted… Except God
Did you know the shepherds were likely outsiders—not just humble, but socially disregarded?
In first-century Israel, shepherds were often considered ceremonially unclean.
They worked nights.
They lived outside the city.
They weren’t the ones invited to religious events.
Yet they were the first humans entrusted with the announcement of the Messiah!! ✝️
> “And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.”— Luke 2:8
God didn’t announce Jesus’ birth in the temple…
He announced it on a hillside.
