Map Reading Skills
Good morning team. As a land surveyor I have purchased several tools that I have used for my job. Helpful when I am recreating also.
Two of the apps / programs that I often use are Topo Maps + Hunt which is an Apple app and CalTopo which also an app but I also purchase the PC version on the internet.
The 8.5 x 11 map below happens to be around my house. You can see the North Arrow in the lower corner which show my magnetic declination. The grid is Nat / Long which is not as useful as grid lines.
If you would like a map around your area of operation, I would be happy to publish a map for your use. You can comment with an address and email address or send me a DM, I would be happy to produce this resource for you.
I also have much more latitude in CalTopo and I can produce letter and tabloid size maps with various grids and scales. Let me know.
