Friday Energy
Friday energy is always a little unpredictable as a writer ✨ Sometimes Friday feels exciting: 🌿 the weekend is almost here 🌿 you survived the week 🌿 maybe you finally have time to write …but sometimes Friday feels exhausting because the week took everything out of you. And honestly? Both are valid. I think one of the hardest parts of building a writing life is learning to work with your energy rather than constantly fighting against it. So if you’re heading into the weekend feeling drained, here are a few gentle ways to reconnect with your creativity without overwhelming yourself: ✍️ Lower the goal. Maybe this weekend’s goal isn’t “finish the chapter.”Maybe it’s: - write for 15 minutes - brainstorm scenes - reread your draft - attend one writing sprint - ☕ Romanticize the process. Light a candle. Make coffee or tea. Put on music. Sit outside. Sometimes, making writing feel inviting again helps more than forcing it. 🧠 Rest counts too. Sometimes, the most productive thing you can do for your creativity is actually rest. You are still a writer even when you’re tired. 💛 Small progress still matters. A few paragraphs count. One page counts. Showing up imperfectly counts. So tell me: How do YOU find energy during the weekend to work toward your writing goals? 👇

Preparing for a New Week-How Do We Do This?
We talk a lot about accountability, routines, and weekly writing goals… but one of the best things you can do for yourself is prepare before the week begins. A little Sunday reset can make your week feel less overwhelming and help you show up for your creativity with more clarity and intention ✨ Here are my top 5 tips for preparing for a new week as a writer 👇 ✍️ 1. Decide What “Success” Looks Like This Week Not every week has to be wildly productive. Maybe success this week is: - writing 500 words - editing one chapter - showing up for one sprint - resting without guilt Define success before the week starts. 📅 2. Look at Your Schedule Realistically Before setting writing goals, check your actual capacity. Ask yourself: 👉 What days am I busiest? 👉 When do I realistically have energy to write? Build your writing life around your real life—not an idealized version of it. ☕ 3. Prep Your Writing Space Small things help more than we think. - charge your laptop - refill your notebook - tidy your desk - prep playlists/snacks/drinks - open the document you’ll be working on Make it easier to begin. 🧠 4. Do a Brain Dump If your mind feels cluttered, your creativity usually does too. Spend 5–10 minutes writing down: - tasks - ideas - worries - reminders - scenes you want to write You don’t have to carry everything in your head. 🌱 5. Start Small You do not need to “catch up” on your dreams overnight. A sustainable writing life is built through: - small steps - consistency - grace - showing up imperfectly Tiny progress is still progress 💛 💬 Your turn: What’s one thing you do to prepare for a new week? Or what’s one goal you’re focusing on this week? 👇

Preparing for a New Week-How Do We Do This?
New Week, New Words
A new week means a fresh chance to show up for your writing 💛 But instead of setting huge, overwhelming goals… let’s make them achievable. Because consistency > intensity every time. 🎯 Try setting a SMART writing goal this week: S – Specific 👉 What exactly are you doing? (Write 500 words? Edit one chapter?) M – Measurable 👉 How will you know you did it? (Word count, time spent, pages edited) A – Achievable 👉 Can you realistically do this with your current energy and schedule? R – Relevant 👉 Does this move your story forward? T – Time-bound 👉 When will you do it? (Today? 3 days this week?) ✍️ Example: Instead of: “I’m going to write a lot this week” Try: “I’ll write 300 words, 3 times this week after dinner.” 💬 Your turn: Drop your SMART writing goal for the week below 👇 Big or small—it counts. We’re building consistency, not burnout. 💛

Reminder:
You are allowed to rest. Stepping away from your writing doesn’t mean you’ve failed—it means you’re human. Your story will still be there when you come back. 💛
