Skill Builder: Avoiding Holes
🧶 CROCHET TIP OF THE DAY: HOW TO AVOID HOLES IN YOUR WORK 🧶 One of the most frustrating things for beginners is finishing a project and noticing random holes or gaps in the stitches 😩 The good news? It usually comes down to just a few simple mistakes: ✨ 1. Check your tension If your stitches are too loose, holes will naturally show more. Try holding your yarn a little tighter and keep each stitch consistent. ✨ 2. Count your stitches every row Adding or missing stitches creates uneven spaces and gaps without you realizing it. ✨ 3. Insert your hook in the correct spot A lot of beginners accidentally skip stitches or place the hook in between stitches instead of through the full stitch. ✨ 4. Use the right hook size for your yarn A hook that’s too big can leave your work looking airy and full of holes. Sometimes sizing down helps create a tighter fabric. ✨ 5. Practice even stitch height Pulling some stitches taller than others can leave noticeable gaps throughout your project. Remember: crochet gets cleaner with consistency, not speed 💕 Don’t rush your stitches—focus on neat placement first and your projects will instantly start looking more polished. 👇 Comment below if holes in your work is something you struggle with!
