Exploring AI receptionists for booking requests, looking for niche feedback
Hey all, I’ve been talking to dental clinics, and a lot of them are interested in an AI receptionist that handles booking requests. Not full calendar integration, just something where a patient calls, says the preferred time, and the AI logs the request so the clinic can follow up to confirm.
I spoke to a lawyer, and his advice was clear: don’t target health businesses at my stage because anything involving health data carries GDPR and compliance risks. Building production-ready workflows for dental clinics isn’t worth the legal exposure right now.
So, I’m thinking of pivoting this to veterinarians. Many clinics get a lot of calls, and having an AI receptionist handle requests after hours or if calls aren’t answered quickly could be valuable.
My questions for the community:
  1. Is this a good niche for an AI receptionist service?
  2. Are there other industries with similar needs where this could work?
  3. How would you market this? My approach is results-driven: fewer no-shows, 24/7 booking requests, faster response times, not selling “tech.”
