Anyone else house/dog sit?
We are off today to our first dog sit through Trusted Housesitters, taking a 10-day break from the RV. We used to do homeexchange.com when we still owned our house - one trip was 90 days and 50% was in homes, for free. Hoping to recreate this kind of thing with the dog-sitting - my hubby is a serious dog-lover and we lost our dog a couple years ago and aren't getting another as long as we're in a 25-footer. #noroom Anyone else doing house or dog sits? Happy to bring a report, but everyone I've encountered who's used this platform says it's great.
Pet / dog stuff
Hej, I am so happy to read that more people are travelling with pets / dogs. Maybe there is already a topic in the TVLC about: travelling with pets. And if not, is it an idea to make it a topic like 'Van stuff' but then Pet stuff or Dog stuff? To exchange our experiences and challenges, questions, photos🤗 etc. Love to hear what you think!

How can you try the vanlife?
Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a while, reading up on things and while I'm super excited about getting a van, I'm also a bit hesitant. I lived in an RV (stacaravan) for 2 years in the Netherlands and the winters were.. not easy. I easily get cold. 😬 Before I jump from one thing to another and end up finding out it's not for me, I'm wondering.. is there a way to try out vanlife? I see some "airbnbs" and places where you can rent a van, but it's like €300 for a night?! Is there.. some other way? Or are people like how I was with the RV, you like the idea, you research and you jump in and buy your own? 😂 but this time around I really, really want to first try it out without going bankrupt in a night or by buying something I won't like. 😅 so umm.. where did you go to get some real-life experience? 😊
How I discovered this place...
In my introduction post I spoke about The Vanlife Network which is an extension of The Vanlife Community. Why I joined was because of connecting with other vanlifers in Zoom calls and real life. But I discovered another big advantage, it's our Road Fam Google maps with Must Visit places which are added by us, the members. I absolutely would never discovered this beautiful place, Orgues d'Ille in France without this map. And there are many other beautiful places to visit, all added by fellow likeminded vanlifers, so you know the chance it's something for you is way big! Interested and want to join ?
