Anyone else house/dog sit?
We are off today to our first dog sit through Trusted Housesitters, taking a 10-day break from the RV. We used to do homeexchange.com when we still owned our house - one trip was 90 days and 50% was in homes, for free. Hoping to recreate this kind of thing with the dog-sitting - my hubby is a serious dog-lover and we lost our dog a couple years ago and aren't getting another as long as we're in a 25-footer. #noroom Anyone else doing house or dog sits? Happy to bring a report, but everyone I've encountered who's used this platform says it's great.

@Daniela Gardete love it - we’re already looking at sits for the rest of winter down here in the nice warm US southwest.

@Daniela Gardete Well, first off, we tend to be mostly in the West -- we're based in Seattle, and travel in winter down to CA/AZ... maybe Colorado, a little Nevada and NM. That's about it. We're not really up for going wherever... lotta driving. It's more challenging to arrange sits while we're down south because they have to have the ability to park our 24' RV in a fairly level spot either in their driveway or on the street out front. That doesn't work everywhere, we can't do condos or many retirement complexes or planned communities, which may have rules about RVs. Santa Barbara and San Francisco are both serious no-go zones, have to get in the driveway (or in SF, we park the RV in airport long-term parking and take BART into town, proceed on foot/transit from there). Cannot park an RV on the street anywhere. In Seattle, we have somewhere we can leave our RV and can switch to our car, so it's more flexible. And... we've just started out with TrustedHousesitters. Got lucky with a great first sit and rave review... I think it'll be easier now. We're trying to book up our summer in Seattle with long sits so we can get out of my cousin's driveway LOL.
Welcome to The Vanlife Community – Start Here! 👇🔥
We built this open vanlife community so vanlifers, RV travelers, overlanders, and everyone enjoying life on the road can connect, share tips, and feel part of a bigger road family — no matter where you're parked. Unlike FB groups, there are no ads, no trolls, and no algorithm hiding your posts. Everything stays organized, searchable, and easy to find — so you can actually keep track of the good stuff. ✌️ 👇 START HERE: 1. Introduce yourself – Who you are, what you travel in, and why you love vanlife. (+1 for pics!) 2. Engage – Find 3 posts or comments from others and reply with something real and thoughtful. This is YOUR community — the more you share, the warmer the fire gets. So pull up a chair, roast a virtual marshmallow, and say hi. 🔥 The road is always better with good company. ❤️ — Rens P.S. If you ever feel ready to meet your road family for real, we can't wait to welcome you into The Vanlife Network! 🔥

Thanks for welcoming me in! I make friends on the road wherever we go - it would be cool to connect with anyone in here who goes to Quartzsite in the winter!
Hi from Squaw Lake on the AZ/CA border!
Hi Vanlifers -- my husband and I actually travel in a 24' Coachman CrossTrek RV so I hope I qualify to be here! While we travel, I ghostwrite books for thought leaders, plus teach people how to launch lucrative paid communities over at Community Growth Academy here on Skool. We have been full time the past 18 months but have had our RV nearly 5 years now. We are based in Seattle in the summer, travel 6 mos. of the year to warmer climes. We're headed out to do a dog-sit in Scottsdale next. I see many of you are in Europe - jealous! We were just there for a month, but not in our RV. Look forward to talking about the digital nomad life with anyone else here who is working from the road! Have StarLink, will travel...
