This is a harsh truth but seriously needs to be addressed when beginning a fat loss phase.
When your sleep is off your body actually works against you and your goals. The effects can have a large impact on your hormones even if you get 5-6 hours of sleep as opposed to 7-9 hours of sleep.
You can be doing everything right but if your sleep is off, it can make fat loss painfully slow.
When your sleep is off:
- Your hunger hormone (ghrelin) goes way up and cravings hit harder
- Your fullness hormone (leptin) drops so you don’t feel satisfied
- Cortisol rises so your body holds onto fat, especially around your midsection
- Muscle repair slows down and workouts feel harder and progress slows
- Your body becomes less sensitive to insulin meaning carbs get stored as fat more easily
But how do we fix this? Head to the classroom to access the course that’ll tell you how.
