Sounds backwards, right? But..
Goals don't create results. Systems do. ** I have an ask, please follow me on Substack this post is expanded here: CLICK Method I will use to stop overthinking and start executing:
STEP 1: Brain Dump Your Dream Life
Grab a notebook. Not your phone. Paper.
Write out EXACTLY what you want your future to look like. Every detail:
- Where do you live?
- What does your morning look like?
- How much money hits your account?
- Who's in your life?
- How do you FEEL?
Don't filter. Don't judge. Just write.
🧠 Why this works: Writing by hand activates your Reticular Activating System (RAS) — the part of your brain that filters reality. Once you define what you want, your brain starts spotting opportunities to get it. It's not magic. It's neuroscience.
STEP 2: Break It Down (Reverse Engineer Your Future)
Take that vision and chunk it:
- 10 years: Where does this lead?
- 1 year: What needs to happen this year to stay on track?
- 90 days: What's the ONE focus for this quarter?
- This week: What moves the needle?
- Today: What are my 3 levers?'
🧠 Why this works: Your brain can't process "build a business." It CAN process "write my offer sentence today." Chunking reduces cognitive overload and turns dreams into doable.
STEP 3: Identify Your 3 Daily Levers
Every morning, ask yourself:
"What are the 3 things I can do TODAY that will create ACTUAL progress?"
Write them down. Not 10. Not 5. Three.
These are your non-negotiables. Everything else is noise.
🧠 Why this works: Decision fatigue is real. By pre-deciding your 3 priorities, you save mental energy for execution instead of wasting it on "what should I do next?"
STEP 4: Forget the Goals. Execute.
Here's where most people mess up:
They stare at the goal. They obsess over the gap. They get overwhelmed and freeze.
Instead: Trust that your system is built. Now your only job is to show up and pull the 3 levers.
Don't check the scoreboard mid-game. Just play.
🧠 Why this works: The Zeigarnik Effect says your brain holds onto incomplete tasks — which creates anxiety. But when you focus on TODAY'S 3 actions and complete them? Your brain releases dopamine, reduces stress, and builds momentum for tomorrow.
THE RECAP:
- ✍️ Write your future in detail (activates RAS)
- 📅 Break it into decades → years → months → weeks → days
- 🎯 Every morning: identify 3 levers
- 🔥 Forget the goals. Execute the system.
🆘 Goals are for direction. Systems are for progress. Execution is for results.
You don't rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.
Now grab that notebook.
