Mayan Sites
This is what Mayan sites looked like before they were discovered as we know them today. British explorer Alfred Maudslay documented Tikal and Quiriguá between 1890 and 1891, when they were covered by jungle. Today, his photographs, housed in the British Museum, are a key testimony to the archaeological past.
